I thought the theatre was SWEEEEEEEEET! It was so amazing. True that there is not a great deal to do outside the theatre but on the day of the competition arent we all pretty much confined to various high schools out in the middle of cornfields all around the country anyway. LOL I mean the point is to see and watch the other groups isnt it? I love Chicago and i heard the groups had pretty sweet hotles on Michigan ave. I guess thats a fair trade off for a 45 minute commute to the theatre.
and you will LOVE chicago- we did fame chicago back during my freshman year (04-05) and it was a blast. Walking downtown chicago is way fun- make sure you all go to Uno's Pizza- its the best chicago deep dish on the planet.
Hate to contribute to anything too off topic here - but FAME Chicago is not actually held in downtown Chicago like it was in '05. It's now in Waukegan - which is about an hour NORTH of the city. Granted, it's in a very nice old renovated theater - but there isn't much to walk around and see there. In fact, I found downtown Waukegan to be a bit scary! But the contest and facility was good - and I want to say that the groups stayed in Chicago itself and did activities there. But I joke that FAME Chicago should actually be renamed "FAME Waukegan" - or heck, even "FAME Wisconsin" since it's closer to Milwaukee than Chicago!
Neither Powerhouse nor Sound Sensations are going to FAME Hawaii. We're going to Chicago.
Though we WERE all hoping to go. A lotttt of CA choirs are going, though, and those that haven't seen a CA choir will be lucky to see Hart and Chula. They're awesome. :>>

i have actually never been to a fame event before, because for my first 3 years i was in my schools' intermediate groups, so this will be my one and only fame event......tear(but i cant wait)......... off topic again, but when does your school start? (lame i know)

i live in Stevenson Ranch which is a little north of la, and its about 1hr and a half or so to orange county, depending on the traffic. what are you doing on vacation while your here?
family in San Diego- we had some reunion in OC and now were in san diego
