As a GCS alumni, I have to say it was great getting a chance to go to Milton. We never went when I was in the group, and I have say it handled all of the weird situations it was given greatly.
As for the final results issue; I always go back to something our director said my sophomore year when we were 2nd to Mt. Zion at Onalaska. He said, "The final results are only 5 peoples' opinions." That was a very profound statement, and I lived by that the rest of my show choir years, and have tried to pass that on to the younger kids now in the group. Not everyone will always be happy with the results of the judges. Had we had 5 different judges, it probably would have been completely different results.
I just have to say congrats to all the groups too. I think the quality of show choir has gone up since I left high school 2 years ago, and proud to say that I was a part of what is going on today.
Does anyone have any pictures from Milton, or know anybody that was taking pictures? Or is there a website that I could go to that has pictures etc? I'd really appreciate it!
Hey everyone at Milton this weekend...I just wanted to say that I wish people would get over the final results. All the groups did a really great job, but the fun part is just going in there and putting on your show. I'm sure you'll go in there next time and things will be different!! But congrats to all the finalists at Milton. Everyone worked hard and had great shows
We are starting to do that, and once all of the people from Sauk read the apologies and clarifications we have put forth things will hopefully be fine.

Missy's right, Keith scored us lowest. I REALLY hope that no one thinks that just because Keith was our former director he gives us special treatment. Because he really doesn't. No one in Northside has ever had him for a director. I'm one of the 3 remaining 4-year NSE members in my senior year and Keith left after my 8th grade year. So he has no experience with any of us so he can't exactly favor us. Just wanted to clear that up. Congrats to GCS, you earned it! I didn't see any other shows except thiers b/c i was crippled from a migrane most of the day, thus remaining in our homeroom. it quite frankly pissed me off that I couldn't see shows..I wanted to see Hastings and West (I couldn't see west anyway b/c I was in solo) and IA City and CR Jeff and Sauk and everyone else. I hope we compete against you all again to give me another opportunity! I hear great things!!
This is getting ridiculous. These constant back-and-forth jabs between Sauk kids and other kids have got to stop. Sauk Prairie's show is recognized by everyone in the Midwest forums as both unconventional and controversial. Whatever your individual stance on it is, you have to agree that it IS both of those things. I know that there's been a lot of people ripping on their show (usually without reason), and there's been a lot of people that don't insult but still don't like it, but I really don't think that picking a fight is going to help things. I can definitely see why Sauk Prairie students would get defensive about their show, because just like all the rest of us, they have been working since this summer on their show, memorizing and perfecting everything, and now the last 6 months of their life are being insulted.
However. People in equal numbers both from Sauk Prairie and from other schools are constantly insulting one anothers shows, choirs, schools, mascots, mothers, dogs/cats/parakeets, bus drivers, innocent bystanders and whatever else they can think of. That is immature on your part, and isn't going to help the matter any. I wish people would realize that Sauk Prairie's show, while very unconventional (and in some opinions, unentertaining), is still what they were given to work with, and they probably had no say over it. I commend them for doing their show so cheerfully and without complaining about it, and hope that when they are insulted that they can just walk away without saying anything. Best of luck to them in the rest of their competitions, and I hope that they can rank very highly in at least one, to show that you can be unconventional AND good!
i fullly agree. i've kinda tried to say the same thing, but it sounds much more eloquent when you say it.... eh, whatever. i agree! AMEN!
I've tried to become more constructive with what I've said. I don't see the same from others. I realize that not everything I've said about Sauk's show has been the most constructive. However, that's in the past. I shouldn't have said some of the things, but was trying to be less harsh than some others. I don't want any hard feelings between Sauk and anyone else especially since Sauk is coming to MG's competition this week.

I'm a proud member of the Sauk Prairie Executive Session. I believe that we have a great show this year. In fact someone from another town came up to one of our parents and said that "seeing Sauk's show alone was worth the price of admission." What better compliment is that?
For those of you who think we have a lack of choreography.... we are putting every ounce of energy into our facials and vocals... rather than repetitious, synchronized arm movements.
I enjoy and respect all of the show choirs.. I just wish we received that same respect back. Thanxs to all who have shared their positive comments about our show.
getting overly defensive and borderline cocky reflects poorly on you and your choir. thank you to those who defend their ground while not being equally as rude as their attacker. you truly are mature.
thank you! continue posting!
and no, this wasn't directed at anyone in specific, so before you ask, no it wasn't you.
I personally don't care what you individually thought of our show but lets not bring in phrases like "most people" or "everyone" because you don't know. just because the three people on here that saw our show didn't like it doesn't mean that that was the feeling in the entire gym at milton. please, state your opinions but make sure you keep them YOURS and don't try to speak for other people.
I understand that point, I guess I just tend to talk that way sometimes without realizing it.
Most of the people simply thought you weren't entertaining, though. If you want to say MG was boring I'd be very surprised.
i personally thought monona was very boring
Why is that, I'd like to know.
I didn't like Sauk's show because it didn't seem to have a true opener to really kick-start the show. "Tradition" just didn't work for me. I like Lechiam-To Life and that would have been a nice opener, however I understand that wouldn't work in the context of the musical as a whole.
Just to tell everyone that was there I really did enjoy every show. I loved how Hastings once again used there awesome violinist to make their show that much more interesting. Sauk Praire as much flack as you may be getting over your show I really did enjoy it. I loved the play and you guys did a superb preformance to it. I know there are people that didn't like Eau Claire's show as I said before but we really did try hard and we usually don't make finals so it was a really big thing for us. So I'm sorry if people are upset but I am excited to see your shows again. And if you didn't see us give us the benefit of the doubt we had to go early because everyone else was going to get there really late because of the snow so that's proably why you didn't see us.

I'm sorry that no one seems to feel that Eau Claire deserved to be in the finals...but I don't see how you can bash us for it because last time I checked it wasn't our choice whether or not we wanted to get in. All we did was try our hardest and if your group didn't get in I'm sorry but it just the way things shook out so better luck at your next compition.
