What are the rules regarding bands with this competition? Does the "only one non-student" rule apply? Just curious.
Usually for national competitions they are a lot more lax about bands- atleast I know for sure they are in FAME. I believe in Hawaii we are having 2 adults play in our combo, maybe 3.
I have not seen alot of these show choirs so this will be alot of fun to see new routines. I understand that Findlay is very good as is Buffalo Grove and Bonita Vista. I know that in the Midwest, Sullivan and Troy consistently make finals at their competitions and both have won several grand champions over the years, but every region has different styles and shows and that's what makes these events so cool.
Should be a stellar competition.
the tornado was a jumper, around 200 homes were seriously affected....some 9,000 homes were out of power over the weekend, but the entire town has come together and we're working quickly to get everything somewhat back to normal.
thanks for the concern! we really appreciate it!
thankfully, only two people in our show choir were devasted with the loss of their home and the rest of us received some damage, minimal damage, or no damage at all.
the town was truly blessed, no deaths were reported.
once again, thank you for the support in the show choir community...our director received around 11 emails from different directors around the country =) (thanks, mr.winslow! - mt. zion)
Well I was planning on being Super Haakon. Yes the newest super hero. He has a cape and everything.
And instead of an S on his chest he has a big ä as in Häakon and it's made out of sequins. Also when he flies his toes are perfectly pointed and instead of sticking his fist out it's a jazz hand.
If I remember right from going to this competition my sophomore year on Friday night all of the choirs are invited to a show at the Grand Ole Opry that night so therefor they probably need time to get the stage ready for the show that night seeing as how the competition is also held there. This trip is sooooooo much fun. Probly my favorite.
Why don't we all give the Southern Show Choirs a screwjob based on scheduling. Performing from 9:00 am - 10:00 am AND going after Findlay and Buffalo Grove. Anywho... is there a Finals?
Also... I'd say that this is an ambitious competition choice for Prattville.
quite ambitious, i'll agree.
my director's going for the eye-opening experience of our new members..
I guess what I am trying to say why not have them start later in the day... the lastt performance at 2pm is still early
