Any videos of Hart and their fantastic panels??
yeah... i wanna see what it was supposed to look like. unfortunately i saw the people moving with the screens so it ruined the effect for me. maybe i will just go to the comp next week to see it...
ok oh my gosh, i had so much fun at brea! Everyone was amazing, and im still so bummed i havn't seen Burbank's set i swear its a conspiracy lol, but hopefully next week! Congratulations to everyone, everybody did fantastic!
umm. i just have a question..dont you think if celebration were cheating..not only would they have one of the best choirs in the nation..but. umm. sweeping. like everything. thats just my view. haha. I think it defeats the point of cheating to lose. but thats just my view.
Well, I am too lazy to post the many links to different groups... But I have Chanteurs' set, Powerhouse's set and Burbank's opener on my youtube link.
Enjoy!
WOULD JUST LIKE TO TELL BURROUGHS.. I LOVE U ALL.. I MISS BEING IN POWERHOUSE.. BUT IT ALSO VERY SATISFYING TO SIT BACK AND WATCH THE ENERGY AND PASSION THAT YOU ALL GIVE TO US IN THE SEATS!!!
BURBANK: U GUYS WERE.. FLAWLESS.... THE TAP NUMBER WAS PRETTY MUCH BOMB
Thanks for being such a great host!!! You guys were amazing, especially with those delicious mints that kept us fresh! Don't be a stranger as well!
I DONT THINK I COULD BE A STRANGER!!! especially to you and aaron oh and of course i can forget james(afro guy) haha... everytime i see you guys i will say hi!!! k i promise!! " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
so basically, everyone was AMAZING last night => i met a few people from other choirs too! that was exciting! last night was definately a fun one! i can't wait next weekend for diamond bar & burroughs! woohoo! see you all there
I can't believe how far show choir has come for the west coast in the past four years. It's incredible. Everyone's taking chances and trying to be the best. Everyone has sets and props and costumes...good job everyone. I think Arcadia's the only school that hasn't switched to risers; they are the kings of simplicity and it works for them. Competitions are so much fun to watch now than ever. I still am dumbfounded at how Burbank and Burroughs continue to be incredible. I wish they'd share the secrets so that the rest of us could win everyonce in a while. But I guess for now we'll keep it all as friendly competition and push each other to keep on going! Possibly one day it can be a battle between all top 6 groups instead of just 3.
Anywho...good work ya'll last night. I was very impressed! See you next weekend.
Serrano- Sorry about the bad mics...i thought that sucked real bad. "We Dance" brought back memories when el rancho did it. Keep up the good work!
Mark Keppel- I heard a big improvement in your acapella. I always remember the positive enthusiasm you all have when you compete. You're a great bunch!
Rowland- It has been a while since the last time I saw your group, I really liked the Infusion I saw last night. I think we should start the share concerts again!
Glendora- I think this year you've visually captured my eye. I like the changes you've made from going traditional turquoise to chorus line status...
Celebration- Your show was very entertaining. I felt your energy build up throughout your show considering the fun song selections you did. Good to see Mr Fitz back.
Chula Vista- I think whenever competition season comes, you're one of the groups I'm always anticipating/excited to see. I believe your soloist for Shadowland was Michelle...there's no suprise she would blow me away. I don't know about being "robbed" but I thought your show design was right on. There was obviously something I didn't see or hear that the judges saw. I really expected a higher placement. Good Luck in future competitions!
Diamond Bar- I have to say that sitting in front of some of the parent supporters was kinda funny. They made me laugh with little comments they said during the competition. But anyways, I really enjoyed "Let it be". I can't remember a lot of your show but I know Patti Breitag did a very good job taking direction of this group.
Los Alamitos- I liked the arrangement of "Wouldnt it be nice" and "colors of life". for a minute there we thought your director was actually conducting that song. You all started off with a nice stage presence and characterization there's no doubt you didnt deserve anything worse than what you got. I really enjoyed this years set.
Hart- I liked the soul/kinda jazzy feel I felt in your acapella. I think thats a style your director also enjoys. But I pretty much like her style. I knew people would be posting like crazy about the sliding screens on here after I saw it. It was done very well. Great job!
Burbank- From what I've seen, No one is as intense as this group when you are all on stage. From the articulation of the music to your stage presence last night, I think the precision in this group is very amazing. You've achieved a high acclaimation from me
Burroughs- I love the creativity in this group... One of my personal favorites. I enjoyed the repertoire.Jen Oundjian is amazing. Great soloists. Really extravagant. Can't wait to see more of this group. Lights and trees just makes you guys better...
(Christian: I was excited and nervous when I saw you I forgot to say happy birthday! lol)
Arcadia- I like the knock on wood choreography.lol But yes, i always feel a very warm and accurate unity in your sound... your show has the best balances than any group. I'm truly amazed with the consistency in this group.
Brea-...yes Brea...even if you were the host group, I enjoyed this competition more than the other ones. Dave Willert and Doug Kuhl, together you are gold wherever you go!
good job last nite to everyone. i was only there to see 4 groups (chula, hart, burbank & burroughs) and i was really impressed with all of you.
chula - major improvements since i was in choir. your look is amazing and your sound is great.
hart - great show you guys. you make me proud!! i was sitting at the very top right so the sliding screens didnt really work for me, but i will have to see it from the middle next time to get the full effect. im hoping you can bring back a 1st place trophy this season cuz i know its been a couple years, but i have complete faith in all of you. keep up the great work!!
burbank - you guys never cease(sp) to amaze me. ever since mr. carrol has been your director things have been awesome for you. you have brought respect to the socal choir circuit. i didnt particularly like your arrangement of africa, but it was an incredible show.
burroughs - wow. i had heard that rago wasnt the director anymore and i wasnt sure how that was going to affect your group, but seeing jen is still there, and im sure brendan knows what hes doing, you guys pulled off another creative show. i always love seeing what you all can do. the trees were cool and the lights were awesome. you guys always seem to incorporate lights in your show and thats rad.
everyone else - im looking forward to seeing you later on in the season. keep up the good work!!
Not very often anymore that I come across anything in show choir that I haven't seen at least in some form or another before. Hart's "screens" last night were a rare treat. I hope someone posts a clip on YouTube soon because it's rather hard to explain unless you were there. Simple, yet used to great effect.
It's a tough call, as show choir is first and foremost a learning experience, but I was also very glad to see the show judges recognizing art as well as technique.
