Hey!!! Is there another thread where people are giving results of the prelims? Can someone give them here just in case I'm lazy?

I remember stars at the 2006 Branson Cup commemorating all previous winners. There were more than 10.

Wasn't 2005 their ten year anniversary? Or did I make that up?

At the 2005 Cup (the year they changed it to the World Cup), they gave out big plaques to all of the directors who had won the Cup in previous years. I don't remember who all got them, or how many they gave out, but I feel like it was the 10th anniversary.

This wasn't helpful at all! Ha!

Anyone have predictions for top 10???
I'm trying to get a feel for how all of this is gonna go, considering I've only seen like 2 of these schools.

Yay! We are leaving for Branson in approximately 30 minutes. Im actually sitting in computers right now, not doing my work, because I a ma uber excited. We have been looking forward to this trip for so long, and it is hard to believe that it is finally here! We are only staying for three days but I swear that I packed for 2 weeks! I can't wait to meet all of you and it is going to be a great chance to meet new people from dif. parts of the country. I don't expect to be in the top 3, but I know that this will be an experience that I will never forget. I am just glad that our director took a notice in our talent this year and has given us the opportunity to compete. I know a bunch of you from Nevada and SC... and JB of course... btw... Im disappointed that P-hill isn't going... I only saw your show once, but I was dead tired when I did... and it was AWESOME... get that thing on youtube or something... Anyway... the "Fox" aka... my teacher is walking around the room, so I need to wrap this up... Good luck to all! and I leave in 25 minutes!!! WOO HOO... God Bless America and all of that junk... see you in a few... I mean... one day...

Idk how Diamond Bar was the past two years but in 2005 they did make finals at Showstoppers New York, placing behind Findlay, Mt. Zion, Greece Athena, and CR Washington so I could see them making finals. I know in 2002 and 2003 Spanish Fork snuck into finals, and so I could see them making finals as well. However, I feel like Johnston and Homestead will make it and it is up to those two to get the final spot!

We had the murder show, where we did Smooth Criminal with the guitar break and did a drum break during Jailhouse Rock with trash cans and jailbars. Anyways, this is getting a bit " border="0" alt="offtopic.gif" /> .
I'm excited to see how this competition turns out! There are a lot of groups I've never seen before. Could be interesting!

ankeny did not attend branson in 2004, because that was my graduating year and urbandale and JOHnston were the only iowa schools to attend. urbandale recieved 3rd that year and we recieved 5th.

Say, can anyone tell me who the innovative/different choirs are among the contenders?

Dan

well....johnston has a very unique show. each song has a different flavor and style, as well as energy. you could say theyre innovative...considering they are named Innovation!
plus their guy number "boy band evolution" is absolutely my favorite guy number ever!

I don't know much about the groups that are attending, except for having seen Spanish Fork in 2005, but I'm gonna predict that Diamond Bar won't be in the top 3. They lost their director a couple of years ago, and haven't recovered yet. This comp. looks to be a Midwest affair, except for maybe SF.

I'm VERY happy, by the way, to see that there are choirs from Utah, Idaho and Wyoming (combined 3-state population about equal to that of Chicago) attending. I can't wait until the Spanish Fork Annual Invitational Competition gets inaugurated so those choirs don't have to travel a jillion miles to compete!

Good lucks to alls! Say, can anyone tell me who the innovative/different choirs are among the contenders?

Dan
