Who can? i am soo excited for this to be my last competition..and i know we are not on Youtube but i thought i would share our set...

"Ride like the wind" (Christopher Cross)
"Desert Rose" (Sting)
"Now When the Rain Falls" (Scarlet Pimpernel)
"Thunder Rolls" (Garth Brooks)
"Cant Stop the Rain" (Cascada)
"Dancing So Close to the Fire" (Staying alive soundtrack)

I can't wait to see the Cascada number! But I like the way the show looks..

Our competition show this year is on YouTube. Here's some quick links.

Live Out Loud/See the Glory
That's All
Fly Again
"Unhappiness"
Show Off (looking at the stage, I'm the 'Derek' on the left holding up the soloist)

I'm sure you'll be able to pick me out on stage... We'll see if anyone can get it right, and pre-warning, no I'm not the soloist Derek. I wish I were a tenor. haha

:goes in corner and cries:

BUT I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BUS RIDE!!!

I love how a lot of the groups competing are coming off of amazing years.

Last competition of my life. I'm going to meet as many people as I can, so don't be alarmed if someone with a yellow jacket with the name "D.Ro" on it, comes to you and strikes up a conversation. I'm sure we'll both benefit from it.

I hear ya, we have came off of a very good year...this is the best we have Ever done...and yes it is my last year too so i will be talking to people as well lol so don't be alarmed if i come by...i am tall and blone and on the front row to the left for our opener!!! I can't wait to see a lot of these groups, cause I haven't seen a lot of them. I want to see Kennedy, because I think I saw them last year and they were great!!! But I am looking forward to seeing everyone of course. And I would definitly love to meet some people, so don't be shy ;) ..lol.

I am way to excited for this.

Oh, and I would just like to say that I cannot wait to see Enterprise's show and meet some of you. You guys have been through so much and I think it is so awesome that you are coming. I know all of Danville will be cheering like crazy for you guys.

Best of luck to everyone!!!See yall there!!

The Single-Gender Competition on Thursday is $10.
The preliminary Mixed Competition on Friday is $10. Both are held at the Acuff Theater.

The Mixed Finals on Saturday is $15. This is held at the Opry House.

The competition does not accept credit cards, only cash and checks.

The Happiness Inc. kids fron Cedar-Rapids Kennedy are perhaps the nicest people I have ever met. Their group cheers loudly for EVERYONE, and I think it's amazing how much spirit they have. If there is a Spirit Award, vote for them And also, they have a FANTASTIC show, and I laughed out loud pretty much through the whole novelty each time that I saw it.

We leave on Wednesday!! AH!!

woo... I'm just happy to be a part of a competition with this magnitude of talent. It's great! I can't wait to see other shows, and I'm going to make an effort to see groups that I've never heard of or seen this year or ever (i.e. Marysville, Enterprise, Mundelein). That's just to name a few... I'll see how the day schedule goes and when I can see certain groups.

Also, I hope to catch Crete-Monee's Girls. They were spectacular last year... I loved their show. I can't wait to see them again.

Good luck to all of the groups performing... we'll see each other in 4 days! Just look for me in the bright yellow coat. Ask around :-P haha!

I hear ya...i have never been able to see a majority of the choirs going..i am soo excited!

Ok after seeing the majority of the groups that are gonna be there....with the exception of Danville and Kennedy...Here are my predictions:

GC: Totino/Marysville
1RU: Marysville/Totino
2RU: Mundelein
3RU: Kennedy

Best Vocals: Marysville
Best Choreography: Totino
Best Band: Totino

i think the last two spots will be up between my group (Pleasant Hill), Danville, and Crete..with maybe Kennedy placing abot Mundelein

Good Luck!!! I'll be cheering everyone on!

it turns out that my exam schedule for the quarter will allow me to attend Nationals and support my alma mater, if i can just figure out the logistics. so i am hear to beg and plead and ask if anyone could please direct me towards any information on booking a hotel room and buying tickets for admission to the contest (if applicable, having never attended one before, i'm not sure how they run these national competitions). i have checked the Nationals website, but all information there was directed towards purchasing a package, which i'm not interested in. i would just like to watch mixed prelims and finals, and stay in a hotel for a maximum of three nights (Thursday-Saturday).

any replies, preferably by PM so as to not clog this topic, would be much appreciated.
