This might sound a little harsh and negative, but I'm grumpy from being on the road way too much today.
I was impressed by Prospect and Fairfield, that's about it. I left before Homestead performed because I was getting mind-numbingly bored.
I honestly could have done without the three soloists and two... other groups, no idea what the hell that was about. When you have six finalists, two exhibition (Norwell girls and Homestead), three soloists, and two other groups, it makes it really difficult to watch as a spectator. It was especially made worse when the whole thing didn't even start until 8pm.
I also have no idea how the one girl won the solo contest, maybe she just wasn't performing as well during the exhibition.
The groups and soloists all did a very good job. The placings seemed about right in my opinion, but I probably would have had Prospect a little higher.

I was completely shocked, shocked, shocked to see Lafayette Jefferson make finals. They were horrible. They had zero vocals. You couldn't hear them over their extremely loud band and their extremely loud fog machines (they had at least 15 built into their stage). Just a ridiculous display of all style and no substance. Absolutely atrocious.
They weren't THAT bad. Just because their vocals were weak doesn't mean they need to half-ass everything else to balance it out. In all honesty, they actually did half-ass their set (it was reused from the 1998 "Magic" show). Have you ever seen a LJ show? The band is always very powerful. I was close to the stage and I didn't notice any major blending issues with the band. As far as the fog machines; again, typical LJ. They were loud, but they were used for maybe 10-15 seconds max during the whole show, nothing even worth mentioning.

I do not remember the Women's results. All I can remember is that Norwell won AGAIN, making them STILL undefeated!
Go to sleep. xD Just kidding. Anyway, congratulations to Huntington North! I love you guys so much, its so sad I wont get to follow you around and shout out random names anymore =P I wish I could have seen Fairfield, I hear they were really good also...
Oh and of course: Mega props to the Oz group! Yay Phil, Tyler, Ross, Colin and...im sorry thats the only 4 I know!
i just recieved a call from the Fairfield camp - apparently they came in second by a margin of 1 point. i couldn't hear who won, as i assume the call was placed on the bus and it was rather noisy, but i was also told that Norwell was third and Lafayette Jefferson came in sixth.

I am an alum ('99) and wasn't able to see their show this year because I moved out of state. Which is too bad because it sounds like they are on fire this year!
