um well last year we attended for the first time, dont get my wrong, it was a wonderful competition, but we had the biggest upset of your season there last year, due to unfair judging. but the competition itself was awesome and the people were nice

Let me explain my fast-talking friend here...

I don't know if any of you saw our show last year but it was pretty good. Not GC material mind you but at least one for the finals. We arrived down in Sioux City the night before, had a ROCKIN' good time at this crappy little hotel and were pumped for the comp. I perosnally loved the setup and the food there I remember was pretty darn good! :-D Then comes perfoming...we did the show and did it GREAT and we were all heading back to talk to the judge in quite a funk. Best time ever?! Maybe...Well, the judge (can't remember who it was) said we were one of his favorite groups there and that we were practically guarenteed finals! Well, in short...no finals...Later on, we found out that 2 of the judges (again, unable to remember who!) had marked us INCREDIBLY low, and I mean low...down in the dirt low, for our comedy number. Their remarks included the "appropriateness" of certain things going on and whether or not they were family friendly. Well...the long and short of it is, our director was freakin' out! And so ends the tragedy that was Bishop Heelan '06...:-(

I'm pretty sure Millard West will be bringing WIG and Uptown Girls to this competition. I don't think we've been before, at least while I was in WIG. But too bad for college, I won't be there. Hah.

Sadly, O'G Ovation! will not be at Heelan this year. We are not coming because of the ACDA National Convention in Miami that week(end). However some friends of mine and I are planning on road-tripping down to watch the comp.

Lewis Express and Lewis Corporation will both be back this year. I'm excited for this competition, not only because it's my old school but because i think it's the best competition ever. Besides the school can get a little confusing, but all the Heelan kids and Stormy do a great job of putting up signs. Can't wait for Heelan Comp. See everyone there

I was scanning through your list of competitions (for Corporation), and if we were returning to Bishop Heelan this year we would be going to every single one of the competitions you all are going to.

craziness

Only about two hours from Omaha.. Sioux City is 26 miles from where I live (LeMars) so thats probably why we go every year. We have never made finals, though . Last year we got third in 3A. But didn't make the finals.. We really havn't been known to be a very competitive show choir. This year is different. We're lookin to got our first competition win since 2003 (First place at Emmetsburg)

Crimson and Black of LeMars is looking pretty good this year. I can't wait for Heelan!

Thank you very much. The general concensus at westside was that we really liked this competition and many of our members wanted to return but because of the ever present issue of money and time we just couldnt fit it in. I am currently a senior so their is no chance that I will ever be attending a competition at Bishop Heelen as a competator but I do sincerely hope that westside does return someday and participates in this competition.

But like I said before good luck to all those who will be participating in this competition. I want to see a good, clean, and well entertaining fight for that GC.

Heck, I wouldnt put it out of the realm of possibility for me and most likely several other people to drive up their and check it out... its not really that far from omaha...

Anyone attending this competition? Every year its tough. Last year we (Crimson and Black, from LeMars, IA) placed third in 3A, but failed to make the finals. Is anyone else on here attending this competition?

ya know Crimson and Black is also the name of Fort Madison's show choir. weird
