If I wasn't supposed to be in Minneapolis singing Beethoven's Mass in C with 350 other Luther students... I'd be at this competition watching.
Good luck to all groups!!! Go Prairie!
OMG Our University Singers is singing Beethoven's Mass in C this spring. I unfortunately am stuck with the Durufle Requiem... lol jk. That's good too! " border="0" alt="offtopic.gif" />
I have Therees for our Chamber Choir and Concert Choir and she is a crazy lady. I love her so much! Some of her ideas seem really weird when you first hear them, but they work really well. " border="0" alt="offtopic.gif" />
Go Prairie!!!! Show them the might of Cedar Rapids, Iowa!!!! (I was talking to some people last night and they were like "we've heard of Cedar Rapids but we thought it was just a small town in iowa". i was sorta angry. lol) " border="0" alt="offtopic.gif" /> <---- SORRY!
Yes, she was amazing! She had so many interesting and good ideas.
Does anyone happen to know where the solo competition is going to be held? I'm assuming around the South hall but I don't know for sure.
The solo competition is held in the south hall, but in one of those 'divider' rooms you guys walked passed when you were entering the stage. When you get to the south hall just find a Grand River Singer, we're the ones with the white polos and a green or blue shirt underneath, and we'll direct you to were you have to go. Hope this helps.
Oh and a huge congrats to Central. A well deserved win.

Good job Robed Choir!!! You guys always sound AMAZING!!!! I told Therees she would love you all!!!
I think she critiqued us...and if she's who I'm thinking of...she was amazing. She was funny, intelligent, insightful, and she seemed to love us. It was a fun 7 minutes or however long we had with her. It was def. worth it.

The La Crosse Center is downtown La Crosse, WI. If you mapquest the address is 300 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse WI 54601 ph# 608-789-7400
From I-90 take exit #3 and turn south toward La Crosse.
You will be on Rose Street. It will turn into Copeland Ave.
Take a right onto 2nd Street ( It angles off of Copeland.)
Stay on 2nd Street until you get to the LaCrosse Center on your left and the Holiday Inn and Suites on your right.
There is a parking garage and lots behind the Holiday Inn and Suites.
Hope to see you this weekend!
To expand on this:
--Rose St. takes you past a KFC, a Best Western, a Super 8, a Hardee's, and Copeland Park.
--As it turns into Copeland Ave., it goes over a viaduct and past a Festival Foods and a Quizno's.
--After that, there is a stoplight (cross streets are Copeland Ave. and La Crosse St.; city hall is at that intersection, as is a Burger King.)
--The offshoot to 2nd St. is BEFORE that stoplight, so if you reach that light, you've gone too far. (It's still possible to get there -- and in my opinion, easier -- if you go through that stoplight; you'd go to State St. or Pearl St. and take a right. But I digress. As long as you get there, that's the important thing!)
Also, if you are coming from I-90, you'll be going south on 2nd St., which means that the La Crosse Center will actually be on the right and the Holiday Inn on the left. The cross street there is Pearl St., but it's one way so you can't turn onto it from 2nd St.
