I think Great River should go to a different score sheet. It's sad when groups who have all 3 judges say they should be in finals, not make it because of points.

Well as we saw here, all three of the judges' daytime sheets were so different from one another. Linn-Mar had a #9, a #7, and a #1. Wash got some medium-to-low scores as well as a #1. Heck, we got a #2 as well as a couple middle scores. I would agree that especially in situations like that, judges' rankings should be used instead of points, so one judge doesn't in effect get a larger share of the outcome than the other judges.
I wonder how often it is that No judge had the choirs in the order that they were overall...
Also (I suppose because I have the CR Kennedy competition on the brain), I have taken the liberty to use the consensus system that will be used there and try to apply it to the Great River Competition.

Good Job to all of the show choirs. I hosted Cedar Rapids Xavier Xcitement. You guys had your backs to the wall with the whole bus thing, and you still pulled out an awesome show. You guys were able to get ready so quickly and still able to warm up fast enough and still pull out an awesome show. You were awesome
So let me just start off by saying this competition was ridiculous - - in a good way. So much show choirygoodness laced with rivalries, show choir drama, and crazy mishaps. All the groups were amazing, and it really seems like, on any given day, any group could have come out on top. Congratulations to Kennedy for truly stepping it up and taking home GC. I was also incredibly impressed by how much Wash really turned things on at night rounds. Definitely an improvement from day rounds, and that reflected in your placement. It’s kind of unfortunate that Xavier had so much working against them, but I am glad (at least it seems because of comments posted on here) that the stigma around Xavier being a total fluke is starting to wear off even (if only a little bit and despite how things turned out this last weekend.) Xavier still has a lot to prove and probably always will, but the respect they have gained so far (especially from the CR community) is definitely appreciated. So thank you sooo much to everyone that has supported Xavier over the past few years while the program literally went from crawling to running in just a few years. This weekend was definitely proof of how hard it is to gain the title of ‘A Cedar Rapids Show Choir’ and I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season unfolds for all of the CR show choirs.
