Steven!!! I miss him so much! He's such a great kid. I wish we didn't have solo & ensemble this weekend because I would so be at this competition. Urgh.

I am currently in Washington, DC. I am trying to catch an earlier flight home, so that I may rest up for this competition.

Is Hooters still there?

???

There is a Hooters in Davenport... but no where close to the Adler. It's on Kimberly St. right by the mall.

This is in today's paper...
Great River Article

The picture shows Mr. Steven Cosey twice... he transfered from La Crosse Central (and was a member of "Grand Central Station") to Davenport Central.

Sorry for posting so much on this topic...

But...

A lot has happened in downtown Davenport since "Great River" 2005. A lot of new fun things have sprung up. If anyone gets the chance to sneak out (which I am not condoning)/ or is allowed to leave the River Center/Adler Theatre for some "Davenport fun" ()... I would suggest visiting the cool sky bridge which is only a few blocks away.

This is a wonderful "mom and pop" video of it... I love the commentary and random people!

Davenport Sky Bridge

It's groovy. Open 24 Hours to the public for FREE.

Everybody better have their notepads, because I want to see lots of those little SCC critiques after the comp!
(I like them)

Note pads??? Who uses those? It's all by memory...

for example...
Sauk Prairie Competition Comments
La Crosse Logan Competition Comments
Milton Competition Comments

These are all from memory... after a few years of watching hundreds of show choirs live, on YouTube, and on DVD... you just remember things.

I'm so excited for this weekend!
This is the first time that I get to experience all the good things I've heard about Great River and I'm so excited watch everyone perform!

(You, may be looking at this like "wait isn't he from one of the schools that host it?")
I'm only a sophomore and last year we didn't have Great River so I'm pretty pumped!

This weekend should be awesome!
Good luck to everyone. x1000000000000001

"Great River" is a blast to host. I was lucky enough to host Dubuque Wahlert's prep group my freshman year, MC the day time competition my sophomore year, and host the amazing Eisenhower "Elite Energy" my junior year. It was so sad to not have "Great River" my senior year... I still weep at night about it.

That's wonderful! I would highly suggest making the trip to see this historic competition. I say 'historic' because it's not every day you get all six major Cedar Rapids high schools competing under one roof. It's one of the those things were the moon needs to be in alignment with Mercury or something... and 2007 is that year!

Another good thing about "Great River"... they will have Maggie Moo's ice cream for sale! My favorite ice cream!

MAGGIE MOO'S!!!! YAY!!!
