I am really excited for Great River. The competition seems to be good, and the linn-mar vs. troy thing will be a exciting event to witness. I haven't seen linn-mar show yet, but I was really impressed with Expresses show. Their voicals are great this year! I have to admit their balad alone made me ball my eyes out. It had became one of my fav. this year so far. N during thier closer there is a amazing tire trick. well, I'm really excited! 2 weeks 2 go.

To be honest, why is it just Linn-Mar vs. Troy? Granted I want Linn-Mar to win...but if I had it my way, Troy wouldn't even make finals. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see an ALL Cedar Rapids final. That would make me as giddy as a school girl, haha!
I too would love to see all CR groups make finals. I think currently though, Linn Mar and Troy really stand out as contenders to win. Then again... groups like Kennedy and Washington also have really strong shows that could throw some things off.

No "killing" will be happening. From what I hear (from people who have seen both shows), the Linn Mar VS. Troy debacle is going to be tight.

Yes, Troy and Linn-Mar competed against each other at Mo-Show in 2003, where Linn-Mar received First Runner-Up and Troy received Fifth-Runner Up. In the preliminary rounds Linn-Mar was ahead of Troy by 33 points with three judges. I can't find my finals scores (they must be at home). actually troy hasnt competed againist linn mar in the past 3 or 4 years, and troy has gotten alot better since 02, so nobody knows will see what happens, i am excited to go to this comp! see y'all there!
I would also like to point out that Troy has never beaten Linn-Mar (to my knowledge- i can only think back to 2002 in this situation). Also, traditionally, Linn-Mar ALWAYS sings better than Troy, and after hearing 10th Street sing this year, I have no doubt it will be any different!
oh i gotcha yah definately not true troy has only not made finals one time in iowa and that was a few years back plus rarely is it just iowan judges on the panel great river should be fun i cant wait

I don't think he was being rude twords you, I think he was saying that because show.choir.nerd was saying that Linn Mar had the same style as Ankeny and we only let Iowa groups into finals and GC, and what not.
I agree on all of these posts. When Davenport West had April as their choreographer from 2003-2006 they even had a certain difference from Linn Mar and Ankeny.
I'm also pretty sure Benton is choreographed by April as well.
actually lol troy is also choreographed by april she does one song for them usually each year
