Since this is the beginning of contest season and Beavercreek is the first competition for most of these groups, I would say that most of the groups are going to be docked because of not "being together" through voice blending, crisp choreography, and performers and bands getting used to how loud the other is. Those elements take time and judge feedback to perfect.

Could someone please tell me why there is a female soloist performing at 8:00pm? Will this girl be an exhibition performer or the top female from the solo competition? If the latter, why is there no male soloist performance slot?
Best wishes to all!

That's why you have rehearsals so you can perfect the choreography and vocals, but I agree this will be a wake up call for some. For some it'll be a WOW! practice paid off alright... As far as the female soloist... I think they had a soloist competition last year, so it'll be the top female soloist I'm guessing? Good Lu... oh wait it's bad luck to say good luck on opening day (if you can tell me what show that's from u rock )" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> )

BREAK A LEG! not literally ;)

The top 5 scores from any division or type of group compete in finals.

My predictions:
Grand Champion - Carroll mixed
2nd - Brush
3rd - Nitro
4th - Wapakoneta
5th - Garfield Heights

Best Vocals - Carroll
Best Choreography - Carroll or Brush
Best Instrumentals - no idea

Tomorrow, if someone at the competition has contact (via cell phone) with someone else not in attendance who is near a computer, it would be great to hear who makes it into finals. Just hearing that could alter everyone's predictions.

Best wishes to all!

GC-Carroll
1RU-Brush/Garfield Heights
2RU-Garfield Heights/Brush
3RU-St. Clairsville
4RU-Kettering Fairmont

Vocals-Carroll
Choreo-Brush/Garfield Heights
Band-Brush

i think this competition could go many different ways, but i just picked one that seemed somewhat likely to me based on what i've seen/heard of the top competing groups listed. what i like about this line-up is that there isn't an Ohio juggernaut that can be called the clear favorite and be expected to win everything - no Fairfield, no Findlay, no Twinsburg. Beavercreek should be a great opportunity for the schools i listed, as well as others like Herbert Hoover, Wapakoneta and Nitro, to perform in a highly competitive environment right at the beginning of the season.

carroll is gonna do great; i just don't like how our two groups have to compete against eachother
