Were suppossed to get close to like 20 inches this weekend, so lets hope that it dosen't come next weekend, because we have already had one competition cancelled, and one more would suck.
I definitely don't want any cancellations to occur - especially on the part of bad weather! Maybe we can get clear skies until the competition starts, then a blizzard can roll through during the majority of the day, and after the awards the skies can part once again.

It might be a long shot in the middle of March, but put me in the "hoping for snow" category as well.
Eh, the forecast for tomorrow's first day of March is between 6-18 inches of snow, depending on atmospheric temperature. Now, granted, Mundelein is further south than Appleton, but snow may not be as much of a long shot as you might think.
That's awesome! When did you move? What high school would you have gone to?
To be honest, I moved when I was still very young. I was about three, my parents had a performing arts school and my sister landed a broadway tour so we packed up as a family and left. But we visit family and friends in Davenport every few years. If we stilled lived in Davenport I would have gone to North.
I'm most excited to see Davenport North...unlike most of my choir, I was born out of state in Davenport, Iowa so it will be great to see the hometown choir! Who knows perhaps there might be people I know...anyway good luck to all we are all very excited over here.

Mmm, my best was Pekin '04. It was soooo warm outside, and in the middle of February! I wasn't performing, just watching my sister and friends, so I spent the day with my friends on crew and we spread a blanket outside and all laid on it for hours in a big pile. We still refer to it as the "Pekin Orgy," just for the amount of people we had crammed onto that thing... " border="0" alt="happy.gif" />
Anyway, anyone from Burbank who wants to show up to scrape off my car would be welcome. I'll even buy them a cookie. We have excellent cookies.
One more problem, though, is that we also have jazz bands competing in the auditorium, which is horribly out-of-date...so much so that instead of fly-space, which we could really use, we just have a skylight that never completely closes, so if it's snowing and the wind is blowing at all, whoever is on the stage gets snowed on.
Well... and not to burst anyone's bubble (because I agree, we're all very tired of snow at this point), but last year at our invitational we had record setting highs (I think the low 70's), which made for a miserably hot day inside. However, we all know averages come from extremes, so if last year was the extreme high, maybe this year the weather gods will shine on Burbank (as long as it melts the next day... completely!) and they'll see some snow. And if it does snow, I'm sure many people will invite them to experience the full effect by giving them some shovels and ice scrapers! I like enthusiasm. " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
I would have loved that.
I can remember Mo Show 2003 was a VERY warm weekend (it's the same weekend as Mundelein). It made everything feel so summery and everyone was outside playing frisbee and then piling in to see show choirs. It may have just been so cool because I was young and realizing what show choir was and how it worked, but I loved the feeling and vibe I got. The weather had something to do with it.
Personally, I think it's funny that all the Burbank kids are feverishly praying for snow at the same time that all Midwesterners are feverishly praying that there won't be any. How's this: I hope there is a friendly snow shower in late afternoon, and not another "Day After Tomorrow"-esque Blizzard of Doom like the Great Plains got this past weekend.
Does that work? " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
