Can’t wait for the show to start in 25 min! What shifts from prelim placements are people predicting?

I'd love to see Homewood jump up to first, or at least grab a caption!

I just went back and looked at previous years of this competition and for the past 10 years, the winner of prelims has won in finals. There have been placement changes from 2nd place down, but the winner of prelims has always also won in finals. It'll be interesting to see if that changes this year.

Seems like Homewood has a good shot at Best Vocals.

I’ll predict that my predictions under the predictions tab will have zero of six placements correct.

I wish I could be there - I had two children in show choir and it was the most incredible time in our lives. Met and still good friends with those people and continue to call them all great friends! This is on my bucket list to attend and stay at Opryland.....maybe next year, Would love to see Linn-Mar go again next year as I am a huge supporter. Go 10th Street!

It is interesting to think of results as ranks (Note: prelims were NOT determined by ranks). I think if they had been decided this way, North Central would be in 4th. At any rate, it's super close. Good luck tomorrow!

Linn-Mar 1, 1, 2, 2, 2
Homewood 1, 1, 2, 3, 3
Findlay 1, 2, 3, 3, 8
Hastings 3, 4, 5, 6, 9
Mt. Zion 5, 5, 6, 6, 7
North Central 4, 4, 4, 5, 7
Oak Mountain 4, 5, 7, 7, 7

Consensus rank based on prelims would be

1. Linn Marr
2. Homewood
3. Findlay
4. Hastings
5. North Central
6. Mt. Zion

Three judges had Hastings over North Central, so the “consensus” would be that Hastings places over North Central even though North Central had 4 first place votes and a lower sum of ranks.

Hello! Throughout my years of show choir, I would always feel for the groups that went first in their division. I would hear that it kind of hurts the groups that go first. After seeing the results from Friday, It is so amazing that Linn Mar was able to maintain the first place position along with leading the vocal and visual captions. They must’ve performed their hearts out! That is incredible! Props to them! Good luck to all the groups tomorrow in Finals! I have to root for North Central just because I am also a Hoosier LOL! Good luck everyone! I would also like to point out how cool it is that the 6 groups are all represented by different states. Really awesome

Personally, I think If you come in and set the bar high enough that no one throughout the day can reach, It works just as effectively as going last! Seems like they did just that.

performance order is reverse placement order:

1st: Linn mar
2nd: Homewood
3rd: Findlay
4th: Hastings
5th: Mt Zion
6th: North Central

I think this is correct based on what I've read from other comments on this thread. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!!

This is correct. I doubt that I can get info on spreads, extended placement, etc., but will try my best.

Prelims predictions as of Friday!

GC: Linn Mar(BV, BC)
1RU: Homewood
2RU: Findlay(BB)
3RU: Hastings
4RU: Mt Zion
5RU: North Central

Hard to put north central in the mix because I haven't seen their show, so their spot is based off of placements. In my opinion, Linn Mar feels on another level regarding the overall effect of the show. Their powerful vocals are full of intent, and the choreo is very detail oriented and difficult(executed in a stellar fashion). I predict a sweep from them, but Findlay and Homewood also sing and dance really well this year and will put up a fight. So excited to see prelim results!
