Hahaha! Actually on the day of this competition, there was torrential downpours the entire day and there was only one loading dock for groups to come on and off. Groups that has big sets had to come completely on and off one at a time and also sets has to wiped down after being wheeled in and this caused the competition to be several hours behind. Prelim awards were not until around 9:30 PM
What happened in Laurel last night was embarrassing. ??????????? how can I Clinton show choir founder be a judge in a competition that has Clinton competing? Brandon BLITZ was head and shoulders above the winning school….fact!
Winona Costello was also on the panel. Winona has judged Clinton several times in the past (even last year) so I'm not sure why it's a problem now, and if we're keeping it real she had the two groups within 2 points of each other so I don't think she gave Brandon an unfair shake. She's one of the most qualified judges in the south, and even if she wasn't on the panel, it would not have changed last night's results.
It appears as though you have an anonymous account.
Your comments do not reflect the heart of Brandon.
As a former member of Brandon Brio, I can assure you that our directors and our students have nothing but respect for for each competition, the schools that they compete against and certainly the judges that are trusted with the difficult decisions made each weekend. It is also evident that you are not aware that Brandon also has a great relationship with Winona Costello and asked her to judge their competition, Brandon Elite this March.
Each school yesterday did an amazing job and Brandon students displayed integrity throughout the process. Your comment does not represent Brandon Show Choir.
this happens all the time literally. It seems that you are calling out the integrity of a person that you do not know. If you look at every competition across the nation, you will see persons connected to multiple groups at competitions they are also judges at.
Winona Costello has worked with Northwest Rankin and has told us plenty of times that she is not afraid of putting a group that DESERVES 1st in 1st. In fact, at South Jones, she put us in 2nd behind West Jones "Imagination", so I would check myself before I question the integrity of the Queen.
Clinton performing "All I Do Is Win" and "Unstoppable" in their show is very fitting lol. Huge congrats to them on their first win of the season, and also a huge congrats to Brandon for putting up a good fight! Both shows are SO good.
Everyone praying on Clinton’s downfall.. Clinton has, and will always be a successful school. Give David Fehr his props that they were unreal under his direction; and give the current kids/director respect to enjoy their season without every comp being a __ above//below clinton by points.. After seeing last night’s performances, the correct group won.
Clinton put on a clinic last night
Pasing, song choice, choreo, band, cleanliness. I have loved me some clinton since 2005 and even on their "worst" years they are still miles ahead of most groups in the country.
Brandon is great too and did well last night. Some of comments are quite biased and emotion based. I have been there smh younger me was wild with the comments but as an adult and love of show choir for 17 years, i understand it ina much more holisitic way. So much goes into a great show and Brio and Attache' are both good. and at a diff comp with diff judges it may have turned out diff. I can say Attache in finals is always miles better than attache in prelims so the result probably would be the same....but show choir is SUBJECTIVE. Accept that...you will be less stressed
only to you. you will have a hard to in show choir if you think an adult doesn't have the integrity to not be biased when judging. trust, i understand being upset, im from indiana where the state finals results never match previous competition results. I've perfomed in and watched competitions and saw an entire auditorium walk out before the GC was announced bc of how foolish the results were. It was not because a judge was connected to a group.
