Man, I don't much like to be negative on this forum, but I don't understand this train of thought. Let's just say that you were right (which I whole heartedly don't think you are - VIBE is one of the premier show choirs in the country), what is the point of this comment? Like do we really have nothing better to do than complain about the results of a competition involving high school students?
There's absolutely a discussion to be had about how shows are tiered/sorted/whatever, but it has nothing to do with the style of a show. It is definitely a bummer.
Ending on a more positive note, the northeast circuit is really strong this year - caught some of the shows during my travel today and thought South Windsor/Waltham were awesome.
Suzanne, I’m sorry you feel this way. As the director of VIBE for 23 years, I whole heartedly disagree with your statement. My kids had to work harder with proper technique on this years show than on any other. Like every other choir, this is a group of 14-18 year olds who chose to be at a show choir competition on a Saturday night making music rather than partaking in other possible poor choices. They cheered for each other and made friends. Let’s celebrate that instead of knocking each other down
