Well, I for one can say that the trip was definitely a wild one. On the second day we found out that we were the only Show Choir going. I was glad that we still went and I feel that I speak for the choir when I say we were honored that Fame let us come even though it was only us. As a group we decided that we were no longer performing for ourselves, we we were performing for every group that was denied the opportunity perform this year and last year. We all felt that this was bigger than going to pick up a trophy. It was a tribute to all those that haven’t had the ideal senior years. I will note I missed the choir mash pit before awards ????
All I've been able to tell is that this event did indeed happen and ALA won the cup with their Icarus-themed show, but that's about it. Not sure who they competed against (or if they competed against anyone). I did also see that Clinton HS from Clinton, MO attended and seems to have won in the concert choir and concert band divisions. FAME still has the 2019 performance schedule posted on their website so that isn't helpful, but they do have an account on SCC in case they'd like to chime in. Maybe some folks from ALA can fill us in on their cross-country adventure and performance here; we'd love to hear about it!
As of 3 weeks ago, FAME was still planning to produce the event and sent a note out to directors about registration. So if it is on, I do not believe there's a schedule yet. If it gets cancelled, I'm not sure when we'll know.
