This has been a fantastic contest to follow along. As a long time Fairfield fan, I thought they sang their ballad beautifully. I love Ben Platt and they had some really delicate soft moments with a still full, strong sound. Their show this year is so classic Choraliers and I love Randy Sage's stuff he gave them. Another choir I'm crushing hard on is Brownsburg. They did it again tonight, energy at a 10 throughout the show. I'm so impressed with how they maintain the great vocals with how athletic that choreography is. I will say, the billboard-sized TV screens felt overwhelming, I don't think they're necessary as the show is an absolute blast on its own. So glad I got to catch those performances.

Single-Gender Division - Tier I
GC: Fishers "Sound" (Best Vocals) (Best Visuals)
1RU: Center Grove "Debtones"
2RU: Brownsburg "Starlight Voices"
3RU: Fairfield "FortissiBROS"
Although the Debtones have always been stunningly fabulous, complications with quarantines may hurt their chances of taking home a Grand Champion trophy this weekend. Fishers Sound continues to amaze every season, and their growth over the past few years is unmatched. I would say I'm surprised at how awesome they are this year, but I'm not. It's expected at this point. Even though their chances of securing that #1 spot this weekend are very low, I will be cheering the loudest for the FortissiBROS. You guys are amazing.
Mixed Division - Tier II
GC: Roncalli "Royal Rhapsody" (Best Vocals) (Best Visuals)
1RU: Pendleton Heights "Pendletones"
2RU: New Castle "Red Hot Blues"
3RU: Beech Grove "Jubilaires"
Roncalli is SO talented and entertaining this season. Their growth over the last few seasons is absolutely incredible, and this year is no exception. While Royal Rhapsody has bounced back and forth between first and second place this season, losing to the Pendletones at a few competitions, Roncalli's biggest obstacle this season has been performance time and performance order. When Roncalli has lost to Pendleton this season, the Pendletones have performed anywhere from 5 to 11 hours after Roncalli, giving the Pendletones more of an advantage. That being said, tonight will be interesting as the fierce rivalry between Roncalli and Pendleton is tied at 9-9 all-time going into this weekend. While Roncalli is more than deserving of a clean sweep Grand Champion win this weekend, Pendleton will still be performing about two hours after them, so we will see what happens......
I don't really think that the judges are "heavily biased" towards Brownburgs. In my opinion, Brownburgs has earned all of their placements last year and this year. After watching, their 2020 set, I completely agree with the places they got, especially at Avon. So, saying that the judges here "heavily biased" towards a group kind of ruins the work that those students put into their show.
Look, I understand that you're a fan of Roncalli, but Roncalli is FAR more talented and entertaining than any of their competitors this weekend
is just an absurd claim to make. Pendleton has beat Rhapsody no less than three times this season and split the captions the one time Rhapsody beat the Tones. Talent and entertainment are also completely subjective claims and by golly, if Roncalli has way more talent than Pendleton, the latter must be working their tails off to get even close. Maybe it's different in Indiana but where I'm from, I just don't think performance time makes a ton of difference. I commend contest organizers for doing what they can to continually fit robust lineups in at competitions and look forward to another close and robust tier II lineup this weekend.
I gotta agree with you, I think claiming one group as "the most entertaining" is a little (a lot) subjective. And ALL the groups competing are crazy talented. Don't get me wrong, I think Roncalli has a good show this year. But so does Pendleton and New Castle, etc etc.
