This. will. be. interesting. Fishers could totally come and take a spot in the top three, but they've never competed against Fairfield before. Center Grove is on a winning streak this season, so I have them at GC although I'm sure it's gonna be close.
Single-Gender Tier 1
GC: Center Grove Debtones
1RU: Fishers Sound
2RU: Brownsburg Starlight Voices
Sound is incredibly strong this year. Their show is great, vocals and visuals are strong, its probably one of my favorite single-gender shows of the season. However, I don't think they've beaten Debtones before (or at least recently, I was using the compare tool, but now I can't remember). No matter what, I will be surprised if Fishers doesn't place somewhere near the top this weekend.
Mixed Tier 2
GC: Pendleton Heights Pendletones
1RU: New Castle Red Hot Blues
2RU: Roncalli Royal Rhapsody
I think it's going to be some combination of these three schools in the top three. Roncalli and Pendleton is officially tied 9-9, so this is the "decider." I also think this is the last time these schools are competing against each other this season, and I know they've been going back and forth for 1st and 2nd all season. However, New Castle hasn't seen either one of these groups yet. And they have a heck of a show. Perhaps New Castle will dethrone both of these powerhouses and end up with the GC title? We'll see! For now, my guess is Pendleton will be taking home the GC title yet again.
Single-Gender Tier 2
GC: Pendleton Heights Emerald Suites
1RU: Beech Grove Elan & Co
2RU: Pendleton Heights New Edition
Emerald Suites should run away with the win this week. They've continuously won and done well in their division and there's no reason to think they won't do the same thing this week. They've also won their division at this competition since I believe 2018 (if I'm remembering correctly). Elan & Co should easily snag the 1RU spot, but it's really anyone's game for that 3rd place spot.
Prep Division
GC: Center Grove Surround Sound
1RU: Plainfield Nouvelles
Center Grove will likely run away with this whole competition, prep division included. The only division I could see them maybe coming in 2nd in is Mixed Tier 1. Surround Sound has always done well in the prep / tier 2 divisions, so I have no doubt they'll do well this weekend as well.
FINAL THOUGHTS: The only division I feel confident in predicting is Single-Gender Tier 2. There are so many good groups here this weekend, kinda reminds me of the Franklin Comm. competition from last season. Best of luck to everyone competing!
A similar lineup to the Franklin Central comp last week, with the addition of Fishers to play spoiler! Should be a fun one. (Also Brownsburg vs. Center Grove round 2, anyone?)
Thanks, Nicole. I imagine you're right that it's tier II Friday and tier I on Saturday. I'm certainly not a fan of how unhelpful schedules are this year, but we've posted it up above as best as we can at this time.
