Due to the recent Covid-19 exposure in Ohio, Governor Mike DeWine will be issuing a mass gathering order, restricting mass gatherings. Due to this recent development, Crystal Classic 2020 is, devastatingly and unfortunately, officially CANCELLED.
While this is devastating to our program financially, it is even more devastating to our students, and all students who were scheduled to attend. All admission tickets that have already been purchased online will receive refunds. All competition entry fees that were paid will be carried over for Crystal Classic 2021 on March 12-13, 2021.
We appreciate your understanding of the difficult situation we are in, as we are still trying to figure out how to navigate through this moving forward here on our end.
As always, if we can answer any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks for looking out for us and sorry things worked out this way. You guys always do such an excellent job I know it's going to be a huge disappointment to folks when they learn they won't be able to be there.
It's important to note that no none is quite sure exactly how bad the outbreak is in the United States due to insufficient testing. It seems like Governor Mike DeWine is taking a rather immediate and hands-on response to this situation, which is certainly commendable. Show choir is fun and is very important to many of us, but certainly not more important than the health of those participating.
On behalf of the show choir community in Grove City, we love you Fairfield and want to help support you as we understand how devastating this is for your program and have started fundraising efforts to help ease the impact! I am very sad that Fairfield was cancelled. This is my final year in Loveland MS Revolution and I was happy that Fairfield was going to be our final competition again and that we would be able to perform in the Arena, and I feel so bad for the seniors as well, who this would be their last competition. We won against the Flu but lost to the Coronavirus.
I'm with you there. This would have been my last competition with Carroll Minstrel Magic before college next year. We were looking forward to competing with Loveland and the other groups. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors!
The Ohio governor just announced that they will be soon putting a ban on large events within the next 36 hours. I'm not sure to what extent that will reach. Sports are currently permitted to have immediate family members attend.
An official announcement will come out later today. We are waiting to hear from officials. Thanks for your patience - at the end of the day, we want to do what is best for students, parents, directors, and fans. We know that we all share that focus and will let everyone know soon.
