I thought the single gender competition was fierce. I am glad to see the FortissiBROS make the finals for a change of pace in what is usually a female dominated division. Great shows by everyone. That one must have been hard to call. I am glad I didn't have to choose.
Shout out to the volunteers, hosts, vendors and facilities here at Franklin Central! You all are doing a fantastic job! It’s great to be here and take in such amazing talent and hospitality.
Incredibly grateful to our friends to Franklin Central, for the work they are doing to support Thirst Project and Show Choirs For Thirst today!! The founder of our charity is a Franklin Central grad in 2006, and was a 4-year member of FC Singers.....this is where our charity was born. God bless you guys for helping us to save lives and change futures through the power of show choir to change the world!!!
GC: Noblesville “New Dimension” (BB)
1RU: Carmel “Accents” (BV)
2RU: Zionsville “Choralaires” (BC)
3RU: Fairfield “Pure Elegance”
4RU: North Central “Descants”
5RU: Naperville North “High Heeled Harmony”
Noblesville- Wow. I saw them at Fishers and it was quite a spectacle. The costumes were some of favorites all time and the vocals and choreo were spot on. I’m not sure if they would of beat the debtones at Fishers without the time penalty, but I cannot see any group taking them down at this comp. I think other groups will take the vocal and choreo captions but I think they will squeeze out and take the win.
Carmel- Where do I start vocally. The best vocals from a female group ever last year. I could not find one thing wrong with the vocals last year. They will definitely take the vocal crown if they sing like they did last year and I expect them to.
Zionsville- Great everything from Zionsville. They are a more choreography oriented group then Vocally in my opinion and I think they will take the choreo caption. I see that they beat Franklin Central and Noblesville at Pike. But, I think they will place third in the bulk of the mess of talent that is competing.
Fairfield- I have never seen Pure Elegance perform at all to be honest. If their show concept and the talent of the group is at the same level at the Choraliers, then I expect them to be demandingly great at this comp.
North Central- I watched their show from last year on YouTube and I was blown way by the amazing vocal sound and visual creativity. I am placing them fifth. Just like the counterpoints, I am placing them towards the “bottom” due to this being their first comp against such great competition
Naperville- I saw them live at Fairfield in 2018. I remember being astonished at the talent and how amazing the band was. If their show is anywhere close to the 2018 show, they will be competitive to all the amazing groups that will be competing.
I think the single gender division will be more of a bloodbath in scores. I feel single gender seems to be like that anyway due to so many similar traits in them all. I think it will come down to who really wants it more. So excited!!!
