GC: Carmel “Ambassadors” (BV)
1RU: Fairfield “Choraliers” (BC)
2RU: Zionsville “Royalaires”
3RU: Noblesville “NHS Singers” (BB)
4RU: Ben Davis “Premiers”
5RU: North Central “Counterpoints”
Carmel- From watching them on live stream from Chesterton, they are the best vocal group I have heard all season. They have really improved since last season and I do not see anyway for them to not win Grand Champs.
Fairfield- Haven’t heard much about their show this season yet, but from going over their last two comps and claiming vocals and choreography, I will put them at second due to and exciting anticipation of an awesome show design!
Zionsville- Last year, they were the best vocal group I heard. I am putting them at third. Their visuals are not as strong as some of the other competing groups (going off of last years). After seeing Marysville beat them at Pike, I will put Zionsville at 3rd.
Noblesville- After seeing them at Fishers this year, they are definitely in the top four. What an amazing overall show they have this year. Such an imperative meaning to our society. An AMAZING Band. They are vocally and visually string so excited to see how close they will be in comparison to point totals to the other 3 groups I have ahead of them.
Ben Davis- I think the 5th place spot is going to go to Ben Davis over North Central due to vocals. Seeing Ben Davis at Edgewood, I was in awe at the precision in detail of their vocals. The diction was crisp and the tone was outstanding. I think they have the edge over North Central due to Vocals.
North Central- We all love a classic North Central show. After winning Nationals in 2018, it is hard to look down on this group. They are spectacular in vocals and visuals and the band is outstanding.. I am putting them at the “bottom” of the finals ranks due to this being their first comp of the season competing against groups that have all been so successful this year.
The point totals will be so dang close in my opinion that the judges will be stressed all day. I believe the judging will come down to every single little detail about each show. If every group brings their A game, then anyone honestly has a shot at anything!. So excited!!!
Love the predictions, I agree with everything you said. This comp is going to be very close, and I can’t wait to see the competition. Bottom line: EVERYONE BRING THEIR A-GAME.
Proud to say these predictions are Stallion approved
The 5 Finalist positions for the Mixed groups will give some tough competition. I think we can all agree that Carmel, Zionsville, and Fairfield are guaranteed the first three spots (based off of previous competitions this year). North Central, Naperville, and Noblesville have a pretty good shot at making that fourth slot. That fifth spot is gonna be a toss up between the other choirs.
This will be one of the biggest competitions of 2020 for sure.
Single Mixed Division High school :
GC- Ben Davis Sounds ( Best Visuals)
1RU- North Central Decants ( Best Vocals)
2RU- Zionsville Choralaiers
3RU- Noblesville New Dimensions
***STALLION'S STABLE***
If anyone wants to discuss show choir, life, and meet new people from other choirs, I am setting up an interchoral meetup at this comp. Message me your snap to be added to the group chat!!!
What is "ISSMA"? I would love to learn more about how these competitions are scored. It always seems to be such a secretive and sometimes confusing experience.
ISSMA is the governing body for music at schools in Indiana. Band. Orchestra. Show choir. State & ensemble etc etc. they gave a particular score sheet used at qualifiers (FC is not) the issma sheet has been in many controversy posts on here. Point being: most hate the rigidity of it.
