Congrats to Paschal, can’t really think of too many choirs that make finals in their first-ever competition!

Also the name of this competition was the “Cowtown Classic Show Choir Invitational” and there were ALSO divisions for high school. Not sure who was in what but for the intermediate category awards- South Hills 3rd, Paschal 2nd, and Voltage 1st. I’m assuming maybe the rest were advanced? Unsure. Hope this was at least a bit helpful

Very helpful, thank you. We're a bit busy on the site right now, but I'll come back and make more updates on this page later. Maybe other folks can fill in who was intermediate/advanced as well.

For middle school there was two divisions, advanced and intermediate. In the advanced division Ovation got 3rd, Agility got 2nd, and Titanium 1st. In the intermediate Gold got 3rd, Stripling got 2nd, and Fusion got 1st in the JV division. Best vocals was Fusion. Best choreography was Titanium. Best female soloist was Avery Macgorman from Ovation. Best male soloist was Gerardo Barrera from Revolution. Best female performer Aurora Jennings from Fusion. Best male performer was from Encore don’t know his name.

Sigh... of course there were divisions. Aside from the results, do you happen to know which choirs were advanced and which were intermediate?

Alright so the Saturday line-up is posted. The schedule did not list any divisions, so at this point it appears that it's one overall high school division.

Saturday
5:45 pm - Exhibition (not sure who?) & Preliminary Awards
7:30 pm - Finals #1
8:00 pm - Finals #2
8:30 pm - Finals #3
9:00 pm - Finals #4
9:30 pm - Finals #5
10:00 pm - Finals #6
10:30 pm - Final Awards

edit: the Friday middle school schedule is also now posted. Also, it appears Southwest is the host choir.

I just saw a copy of the Saturday schedule for this contest. So, I'll work on adding it momentarily.

Will- my research and thoughts have been pretty much in line with what you've shared. I've seen this contest called everything from Cowtown Classic to Cowtown Invitational or just Show Choir Invitational. It's been hard to find information or even who's actually responsible for hosting this contest.

I have reached out to several folks in Texas to try to learn more about this contest. So far, not a single response back. I'm hopeful that will change as some of those messages have been pretty recent, but I do have to admit it's a bit of a bummer. On SCC all we want to do is represent show choir accurately and celebrate show choir in all its forms. Sometimes my job's easy with that and sometimes it requires a bit more work. This one demonstrates the latter, but ya know it's all good.

Per here, there is a middle school portion on Friday and at least that part of the event (maybe the whole thing?) is now named “Cowtown Classic Show Choir Middle School Invitational”. Of course, the Google Calendar entry has only a title and no description, so there are a lot of questions and few answers, but it for sure is happening this year.

Upon further research, there is a Saturday portion so I guess it’s not only middle school; Arlington and Legacy are the only two I could find attending the Saturday portion.
