Though neither group has competed yet this season, it would be quite the upset if Spirit Lake beat Le Mars. As far as I know, Spirit Lake has not beaten LeMars.. at least back to 2002. But - Spirit Lake's show the last couple years have been much more competitive so it could happen if that progression continues! Same with Sioux Center beating Westwood... that would be a shocker too! Chaos! I like your style, Jpathe!
Dallas Center-Grimes is no longer able to attend this competition due to the weather. Traveling that far doesn't seem intelligent with the potential weather in the forecast. Good luck to everyone competing this weekend. STAY SAFE!
Millard South will not be able to compete this weekend because of the weather. Our district has cancelled all activities for Saturday so we are not allowed to go.
Wondering if we will see any groups pull due to weather? Will depend on the track of the storm.. but it could be not fun, especially down toward the Omaha metro (Bellevue West, Millard South, Lewis Central, etc) and east (Dallas Center-Grimes). And if the storm tracks further west, it could threaten the entire competition.
Slight change to my prediction: move Bellevue West to 1RU. Honestly, I don't have a good read on a few of the schools like Millard South, Lewis Central, Emmetsburg, etc. This will also be the first competition for Le Mars. After the top couple spots, it could be a very exciting finish!
