I believe all they provided after finals was a sheet with placements broken down by judge and not the actual scores. In other words it has the ranking each judge gave each group in finals.
Their packet stated it was consensus, but their score sheet listed the sum of the ordinals. So I’m not sure which method they used, but both would have produced the same outcome. They didn’t provide the raw scores from finals, so I can’t say how that came out. I would be happy to share the judges’ ranks if anybody is interested.
Big shout out to SE Polk for their flexibility! They put on a great competition despite all the last minute changes and horrible weather. Congratulations to all the choirs. Special congrats to NOVA. Impressive to make the finals at this competition being in their first year of existence and an all Women’s choir..
It'll be close between Johnston and Urbandale, they both have amazing sets this year! Both have amazing bands, great soloists, and stunning visuals. Excited to see how this turns out! Prep division should be interesting as well with the addition of more schools.
Yet another stacked Des Moines competition! Haha. This should be super close. I predict Johnston will win by a hair. But I have to admit, I'm rooting for Urbandale! Good luck to everyone.
