More than likely not, and it's more than likely due to restrictions set by the Adler Theater. Also I think they would rather have more people come and pay admission than watching for free on the internet, but I'm guessing it's more than likely the theater

We live stream our event and it hasn't hurt our gate receipts at all.

I wouldn’t figure it would effect it that much, I’m pretty sure it’s because of the theater, was just throwing reasons out there don’t listen to me I don’t know anything lol

Suggestion to the organizers of the Great River Competition. For the Consensus Ordinal Ranking System to work well and protect against one judge skewing the results and giving all judges equal weight in selecting the winner, it would be best to have an odd number of Judges who actively score the choirs. It appears that you will be using 4 judges in the daytime and perhaps the 2 critique judges will be added for finals, yet still, an even number of judges. The reason this could weaken the fairness of the consensus system is that many competitions end up being a shootout between the two best choirs during finals. When this happens the possibility of having a tie between the judges goes way up. At that point, the tie breakers end up going back to the raw score which then opens up the possibility of one judge skewing the results. With an odd number of judges this situation is greatly negated. Last year the top two choirs literally ended up in dead heat with the caption awards (BV/BC) being tied (using consensus). Raw scores were then used to determine the winners. I am not sure if consensus or a raw score tie breaker decided the Grand Champion. Regardless, If you use odd number of judges and the competition ends up being a shoot out between two choirs, the winner will end up being decided equally by all the judges without one being able to skew the results via the raw score tiebreaker situation. Good luck to all the choirs tomorrow it should be a great competition.
