For me, the single-gender division is harder to predict simply because of what Muses is bringing to the table this year. They have continued to move forward every year as being a premier girls group. They are establishing themselves as the best girl group in the state of Alabama for sure. One may say this statement cannot be validated because Muses hasn’t competed against Auburns’s Elan, but Elan lost Several captions to Enterprise throughout the season, Muses swept at Auburn’s Competiton. This carries weight as to how competitive these two group will be. When comparing this to Petal, despite how amazing Muses’ performance would be, Petal has made finals at every competition attended. 0.0...it must also be noted that they haven’t competed against another girls group on the calibur of Musese either....but, nevertheless this is truly an amazing accomplishment, and I cannot wait to see their performance.
A partially updated schedule has been posted. Tier I and Single-Gender are up-to-date. Albertville added and Lakeside moved from Tier II to Tier I, while I think Tallassee added a group to single-gender as well. What isn't updated or maybe completely accurate at this time is Tier II. The schedule we received was cut off at Hueytown. So, we're not sure what the new schedule looks like prior to Hueytown.
With the Oak Mountain Singer’s performance last weekend, they are sure to do very well. Their show is entertaining and fun with incredible costuming. They continue to impress! And the Oak Mountain Muses will definitely shake things up in the Women’s division.
Not going to predict anything other than a Petal sweep, but I'd like to point out a few things i'm definitely interested in seeing...
1) Alabama show choir comp with finals (thanks)
2) 9 Middle Mixed Groups (Beautiful)
3) Interested to see how Oak Mountain fairs in the midst of this
4) Interested to see how ESSC fairs in the midst of this
5) Will the Petal ladies take yet another spot away from a mixed group in finals
6) will there be a livestream?
