If anybody has contact with the Live Stream provider (named Performing Arts Center on YouTube) you may want to advise them that they have an audio track running over the feed making it very hard to hear the performers. They deactivated chat comments and you can't message them directly unfortunately.
Is it common in MN to have your accompanist be a student? Is that specific to Show Choir? Seems odd as in actual choir it was always our director or a hired accompanist so we would use the same one in Show Choir for consistency.
I know almost every comp in Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin use the rule that you cannof get best band unless only students are playing every instrument. The piano player in our varsity and our jv groups are all students.
Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska must be different then. I remember Mt. Zion coming to the Johnston invitational awhile back and they had multiple hired band members.
Just a reminder for people who have been coming to this comp for a few years (or more,) we are holding Star Power in a NEW VENUE! Instead of turning into the old high school, keep going on the same road, and you'll find us.
