Curtis and Edward are the same person. His name is Curtis Edward Brown, and which name you know him by depends on where/when you met him.
And yes, this was an incredible competition! A showdown between several powerhouse choirs! The real winners today were the fans...so many fantastic performances!
Ohhh, okay! We're from out of state and he was listed as Curtis on the score sheets so I didn't know
It was Curtis Brown, not Edward Brown.
Nancy Bocek
Cynthia Coulson
Cheryl Barnett (finals only)

This was definitely a very exciting competition for everyone tonight! From what I heard, Hurricane was ahead by 2 in prelims, and then they were ahead by 14 after finals. After tonight, all I can say is that everyone definitely left everything on the stage, especially Hurricane! So much fun to participate!
This was a great competition! From my understanding the guy and a female judge had Loveland in first in finals and two females had Hurricane in first for finals. Both groups had strong shows. Congrats to Hurricane and Loveland!

Is that desirable? I feel like you can't accurately judge a single-gender group against mixed groups. You would be looking for different things, especially in vocals.
That would depend on the scoresheet. If the scoresheet does not have a section for male sound, or the categories specifically say something about a male sound, then the vocal principles should theoretically be the same/similar. It seems like a lot of competitions allow for single gender to make finals. I don't really see a problem if they are indeed one of the 6 best groups. It is an interesting discussion though.
They changed the rules and now all single gender groups are eligible for finals.

The rules state that a Single-Gender group can only make finals if they are the only group in their division, so it looks like they're not eligible
Actually, the rules were modified this week so that Single-Gender groups CAN make finals!
I am guessing that single gender will be available for finals as well...
If so, here I go.
