OK - so I'm a little concerned. I arrive in the Twin Cities tomorrow, and leave after the weekend - so my travel window is safe. However, I'm reading about this Winter Storm Watch for late Thursday going into Friday - can anyone local give a better update on how this might affect Saturday, if at all? I'd hate to make the trip, then just get stuck in my hotel room for the weekend because of cancellations!

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING
THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

* TIMING...Rain will turn to snow Thursday evening and continue
through Friday evening.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 to 12 inches are likely, with amounts
in excess of 12 inches possible.

* WINDS...Northeast to northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40
mph resulting in considerable blowing snow and possible
blizzard conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

I live very close to Hastings and we are in a winter storm WARNING until Saturday morning and they are predicting 8-12 inches of snow here

SO sad I'm not gonna be able to make it up to Minnesota for this weekend. This has been one of my favorite competitions and I will hopefully make it up next year.

Luckily I will still get to see Riverside Company in Nashville!

Does anyone know if Heath Weber still gives out the scholarships to the star performer of every finals group?

He did at Executive Showcase... I'm not sure though!

It looks like it should move out before Saturday with the current model. Depending on when choirs are traveling; that might get a little interesting. As for the local roads, the morning commute might be a little slick.

Depending if the snow sticks to itself, the wind is going to be the biggest hazard with possible blizzard.

Everyone be safe, keep your distance, and take it slow.

GC) Ankeny Centennial (BV, BB)
1RU) Johnston (BC)
2RU) St. Francis
3RU) Westside
4RU) Totino Grace
5RU) Kennedy

St. Francis has some of the most impressive vocals I've heard from a show choir, and I think they could really impress some people at this one. That said, it's kind of hard to bet against Spectrum to take best vocals considering the sheer power in their sound. Also, between Johnston, ATSC, St. Francis, and Ankeny, you have some of my favorite ballads from this season! Should be a great competition and I can't wait to see how it turns out.
