Seen Wheaton North's show in person and holy cow!!!!! I think they'll do good. Waubonsie has always been outstanding with the show they put on.
Carmel is on the schedule here but on their website calendar, they're marked as being at Fairfield on this day. They might've changed comps or something like that. It would be much appreciated if someone could elaborate!
We were originally going to Fairfield, but unfortunately there were some logistic things that didn't work out. We're very excited to be coming back to Wheaton this year!

That was tough. I feel so bad leaving our groups like Lincoln Southwest and Solon, but this is the best I could do. The only groups I've seen on livestreams this year are Waubonsie and Wheaton North. Wheaton's choreo is outstanding this year, and I'm hoping Carmel will bring their amazing vocals. Waubonsie's vocals aren't where they have been, but they are still an amazing group. I can still see them winning, they've never lost this comp, and they went against Clinton, Burbank, and John Burrough's in three separate years. Mitchell has proven to be great despite the director change. WWS never disappoints when giving us a great lineup.

Not sure of the reasoning behind the switch, but Carmel will now be competing at the Choral Classic! We are very excited for the 2017 lineup, it's sure to be a great day of show choir!

That's not surprising. The caliber of groups here means they may not win. To me it would be all the reason to attend. Gotta check the Fairfield list. More than likely not as hard for them to win.
But this is all conjecture. I don't know their real reasons.

I think im a little bit more excited for this years choral classic than I was for last year. Dont get me wrong, last years classic was by far my favorite competition I have ever been to and will be a day I will never forget. But last year I feel like it was more of a competition where everyone was excited to see what happened in FINALS. I think there were 6-7 clear groups that could make it to finals with the other groups just battling to see if they would be a wildcard (which did not really happen, unfortunately). I think this year there are a good 10+ groups that all have a chance at finals this year and its just gonna be based on who brings it. I really think this year is a bit more competitive because there isnt such a large gap between the top groups here. Of course I think Waubonsie and Carmel are almost guaranteed a spot in finals (which i think will be another interesting battle between them alone), but I think Wheaton North, Mitchell, Prospect, Solon, Lincoln SW, Twinsburg, and Mt Zion are all gonna battle for those final spots. I think some will have an easier time getting there than others, but I think this year has a bit more of an even playing field which will make things super interesting!
