In the history of the Chocolate City Showcase, there has never been a Grand Champion other than the Mayville "Cardinal Singers" - they are a flawless 6-0 here since the competition started in 2011. It definitely looks like from the line-up as well as comments that they are facing some stiff competition. We'll see if that cool streak grows or comes to an end in just a few days.

Predictions!
GC: Sauk
1RU: Mayville
2RU: Prospect
3RU: Tomah
4RU: Eisenhower
5RU: Broadhead

Mayville is smaller and younger this year than it has been in a very long time, with a new director to boot. I have confidence Mayville will get back up to the strength it has been but I don't think it's this year. I haven't seen Sauk's show but I heard they did well at Colby and Catch Me If You Can should play well here. They've beaten Mayville many many times in the past as well. Tomah did fantastic last week too (even beating Sauk) so I could theoretically see them even moving up. Both Sauk and Tomah also have the potential advantage of being judged by Terry Hudson again (he was also a judge at Colby). I am not suggesting a bias, but there is a value in seeing the scorecard of what a judge thinks of a show and making tweaks.
It is hard to know for Prospect as they haven't competed yet this year but the lackluster appearance of their competition record last year shouldn't be believed, they beat La Crosse Grand Central Station and some other very good groups.
If there was a year to end Mayville's reign I really think it might be this one.
The last two also haven't competed this year so I went off past results here at Burlington.

😳 It's one thing to think it might happen and it's another to actually see it.
Congrats to Sauk Priaire. Condolences to Mayville. Show choir on everyone
