Yeah.. Most of us don't start for another 2 weeks @ Bonita vista San Diego sings... I know diamond bar and Glendora just performed this past Saturday at Brea California classic, but for the majority of us SoCal peeps.. Our comp season is typically (though not limited to) End of February - mid April

It is... but it might have been reduced to Friday. California people just don't participate in online show choir anything the way that the rest of the country does, so I'll have to dig for more information.
I love this idea, Showstoppers is a huge part of show choir history. Not to mention one of the big movements from stage shows to riser shows. It will be great to see this return in the form of SoCal.
The early competition dates do scare me though. What happened to Fame Hollywood comes to mind, I'm not sure how many groups will be ready in time. And if it goes go the way Showstoppers did and attracts midwest groups, their earlier season will definitely produce some more polished shows than the way mine usually look in February.
Maybe we'll just have to get an early start next year as I'd love to perform in Disneyland (our groups only had a chance to do one competition this year and it was SeaWorld... Disney would be a huge incentive for us and great motivator for them

You and your wonderful show choirs are cordially invited to come west for The Southern California Show Choir Invitational to be held at the world famous Fantasyland Theater in DISNEYLAND, Anaheim California!
Not since the days of “Showstoppers” in the mid 90s, has Disney had a show choir competition inside their park! In 2017, they have invited The Southern California Show Choir Invitational and the amazing show choirs across the nation to perform and compete at one of the most MAGICAL venues in the United States!
The date is FEBRUARY 10-11, 2017 (New date)
Middle School division
High School novice/intermediate - Girls and Mixed
High School Advanced - Girls and Mixed
There will be also a Solo Competition for talented show choir soloists to perform and showcase!
Invites are going out this summer. Space unfortunately will be limited, so please reserve your show choir early if possible. There will be several packages available that include: Two day park hopper between Disneyland and California Adventure, Disney AMAZING Workshops, One Day park hopper or One Day Disneyland only packages.
The Southern California Show Choir Invitational was founded in 1995 and is hosted by Chula Vista High School’s The Main Attraction annually.
