Newp. Whatever the outcome, this should have an asterisk next to it.

And while yes it has unfortunately happened in the past, it's more common for a judge to remove themselves from the panel than let there be even a suggestion of impropriety.

There is no need for an asterisk. Like what's been said before, Spaulding is a fantastic judge, and he has not been involved with Clinton for over 4 years, which in my opinion removes any shred of impropriety that may exist. He will not be removed from the judging panel.

Whenever an alumnus, a former director or choreographer adjudicates their former group, the results are always going to be questionable. Any low scores and they look like they're being extra tough, any high scores and they're showing favoritism. Neither is fair. Why allow this to happen at all?

This isn't the only competition this has happened. This has happened many times over the years. Yes Spaulding is an alumni of Clinton and a former choreographer but he hasn't been involved with Clinton in over 4 years. Chris is a fantastic judge and I know he will judge fairly without bias.

Not true. I know that if a judge is good, they wont allow former experience with groups to affect their scoring. The results are only questionable if you make them questionable. Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch tscott!

We are also so happy to have Tori Burns, Michael Winslow, Damon Brown, and Christopher Spaulding back as judges!
Michael Winslow is gonna be unable to make it back this year, but is being replaced by Heather Bays. Heather is one of the "voices of Hal Leonard" on hundreds of recordings over the years.....is a professional singer (lots of her stuff is available on ITunes) and voice teacher....and has judged multiple competitions throughout the midwest. She'll be an AWESOME addition to the panel
