The best part of this Competition was that no Show Choir laid an egg in the Finals. They all performed well, so much so that and no one had much of a clue where they were going to finish. Homewood had the stronger boys which carried the vocals. The show was confusing to us though and despite seeing it twice we asked one of the Homewood girls to explain to us what it was about. Tift County, Appling County, and Oak Mountain all had very enjoyable shows/performances. Great competition.

Thanks bro!! Very excited to see them. For some reason or another I was under the impression that the costumes light up or something. Haha. That's why I got so excited about it. But I'm sure they're still pretty.

Probably but I still don't know what choir it is that has these costumes................
Homewood "The Network." They come out in all gray with Amanda, the main soloist, in red. They are last performance at Opelika, host at South Central Classic, and somewhere in the mix at Lafeytte Jefferson.

Are you going to Opelika, South Central Classic, or Lafayette Jefferson? They will be there for you to be able to see the dresses.

Also, I call BS on some of these people saying they're associated with Homewood "The Network." Homewood students, generally speaking, are not allowed to post, and definitely not with a group affiliation.

How does a dress that changes from gray to red on stage not win best costuming?
Because there is always someone who is half red and half gray. Literally always. I'm sure they will get it down by the end of the season though.

Those dresses were so cool, I was mesmerized by how they did that! I think that Oak Mountain's costumes just fit their show really really well. They had a lot of cool styles and colors that really helped the audience visualize what day of creation they were portraying (since their show is the 7 days of creation), and completed the picture onstage.

Yeah I know! They have worked really hard this year to raise money this year, they have done multiple fundraisers and reached out to multiple sponors to be able to afford them because they are one of the only schools not supported with city school funding in Alabama. Awesome to see all their hard work pay off!

My apologies again. 2 inches while resting, 5 inches while body-rolling.

And yes, they were able to spend thousands of dollars on 4 different costume changes for their competition show (celebrating the beauty of creation) while children only miles down the road from them don't even have access to music education programs. Congratulations!!!

5 inches? Were you watching the same show? It was two at the most. But none of this matters because they ended up winning best costumes! Great job OM!

And I'd be upset if I was a girl, that they made me play the part of the animals instead of Eve on the 6th day.
That's actually very false, the girl who represents Eve also plays an animal on the 6th day. All of the girls have equal parts but one holds an apple. Please educate yourself before you try to start stuff

AnonFupa (?),

To answer your question: yes, I do. I was alluding more to the fact that you can see a good 5 inches of the girls’ midriffs, and I’m confused as to how that specific choice reflects the message or the (presumed) values behind the show. Language works sort of like a show; not everything is intended to be taken literally. However, I will attempt to refrain from using sarcasm in the future- my most sincere apologies to you and to anyone else who were confused by my comment.

Preach!!!!!!!
They already did…

Aside from the different show concept, how is Oak Mountain?? I haven't seen them in years. The show actually sounds rather intriguing to me....

They're awesome! They have excellent vocals, they use great dynamics and their diction is great too. Choreography is high energy and clean. Amazing costumes and use of TV's as props. My only critique is that it seems like they have multiple "ballad" like moments and the energy in the middle of the show is sort of minimal compared to the opener and closer, which could be critque for any show choir. I completely enjoyed their performance! I saw it live at Tallassee and prelims and finals live feed here.

I believe this is the highest finish ever for Tift. Congratulations to Homewood for the sweep and everyone else that made it a great competition.

They have won a few class Grand champions, and actually an Overall Grand Champion last year. But as far as this year, yes it's the highest so far. Congrats to Homewood on your win and the sweep. Very much deserving!
