Hearing finalists are Norris, Decatur, Mayville, Springfield In Session, and PBL. Not sure about awards from prelims or order of finalists.

1RU: Gold
2RU: Elite Energy
3RU: In Session

I could see Gold getting best choreography but other than that I agree with this.
Watching the video, is there set really only 15 min?

Just got done watching the video. Wow they are pretty good! Too bad I won't be able to see them live, we perform right after them. Maybe we'll see them in Finals....

Obviously I haven't seen most of these groups but judging from this season's competition history I'm thinking the top 3 are Mayville, Norris, and Decatur. Any thoughts?

... being a Nebraska show choir they don't tend to use a ton of sets, effects, props, etc.

You know, that's how it used to be, back when I lived in Nebraska. But going back and seeing most of the top tier Nebraska choirs, they were all concept this year, and some even with set pieces! Norris was always one of the more "classic" show choirs back in the day (because I'm old, so it had been awhile since I had been to a Nebraska competition). It's good to see them still stick to their tradition.

This is going to be a really interesting competitions with choirs from all over the place! Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Does anybody know if Norris and Decatur tend to be more "traditional" show choir? Mayville's certainly is not and I'm thinking that the judge's reaction to the kind of show Mayville does is the wildcard

Decatur actually has some props this year and a theme! You'll just have to wait to check us out!

Norris does more traditional shows, no story/set/props. I really enjoy them this year-- I think they will surprise a lot of people! (Yay Nebraska) I think they'll do very well at this competition.

Well, you could probably look the shows up via YouTube to get an idea of their style. Norris is probably what you would consider traditional - being a Nebraska show choir they don't tend to use a ton of sets, effects, props, etc. Decatur is probably more of a contemporary Illinois show choir with some backdrops/sets and a more upbeat style.

To your second point, I think the judges will do just fine. The judges have been around and seen a lot of different types of show choir from traditional, to story shows, themes, etc. Obviously judging is inherently subjective, but I don't see how this event will be any different from the others.
