What a great competition! This was a crazy close competition between first and second. The points on the score-sheets were converted to the rankings that you see here. The largest gap in between scores was three points. The average difference in points was a point or half a point.
Also, a shutout to Benton is needed. You guys put on a great competition! Going into this competition I was a worried about cutting night rounds. But looking back, Benton has always been one of those competitions that run super late due to the amount of groups that perform, and I feel like it was a good choice. Also, that stage is very well built. With curtains all around the sides and with an open stair leading up to the risers gives performers way more liberty when coming on and off stage. You don't see that a lot at some competitions. Very well done Benton!

Interesting how Benton doesn't have a finals round this year, really puts emphasis on the idea of giving it all every time you perform. I wasn't quite sure how to do captions here, although I think Waukee has BV locked. I could see BB going to West and I think BC could go between West and Xavier. Is this permanent, or just for this year?
I believe what they did was add a solo competition which i don't believe they had in the past (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know if they are just trying it this year or if they are sticking with it. By the looks of it they haven't updated their competition rules sheet online so I don't know if thats any indicator or not. I'm sure there are plenty of factors into why the change was made!

I think this one will be really interesting due to the fact benton got rid of finals this year. It really tests groups ability to give everything they've got with just one performance. Seeing Waukee a few weeks ago at Johnston I was very impressed I would definitely be surprised to see them place anything but first here. GTC has also placed very well this season going up against some steep competition. I could see Ankeny and Xavier switching around possibly I thought Ankeny also had a great performance at Johnston so we'll have to see how this one plays out. Captions I feel could go differently I'm confident in Waukee's vocals but choreo could be a toss up as well as band. Good luck to everyone!
