Day placements were:

1st- Hastings
2nd- Elkhorn South
3rd- Elkhorn
4th- Washington
5th- Millard North
6th- Grand Island Northwest

Washington and Millard North technically tied in day round, but Washington won the tiebreaker with the higher vocal score. In finals they did not use the score sheet, just simple rankings and the Top 3 were mostly consensus.

Hastings was in first after the day performances, but specifically chose the 4th performance slot. The kids had been up since 3 am and the directors thought it wise to not have them perform in the latest time slot.

Hope that clears it up!

Oh, well then I guess Nic was right after all!

Haha. I think she means there was a hat or something, and the directors reached into it and chose a performing time, which was written down on a piece of paper - making their slot "random." Or at least, that's how I interpreted it.

And last but certainly not least...
Hastings Riverside Company
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Love. Been a huge fan since I saw you at Ankeny Centennial in 2015. This year's show is one of my favorites ever. Simple concept that is executed so amazingly. There's definitely a reason that you hardly ever lose best vocals, and you proved that tonight. Your band is impeccible, and amazing visuals. Well deserved sweep. Love "Flash of Time" and the Henry Ford number makes my life. The ballad is very subtle and so beautiful. You proved you don't always need to be the loudest to make the biggest impression. So amazing. And Weird Science was all kinds of awesome. S/O to Karissa for bringing me my Hastings t-shirt that I ordered not knowing they were only being shipped to Hastings HS (don't ask okay I'm just dumb haha). She brought it to me and I appreciate it so much! Thank you all for consistently making my day (Nebraska LOVES you guys! Please come back in the future!)

Amazing shows all around. Glad I spent my Saturday watching some amazing groups!

Thank you for your kind words & enjoy your shirt Bathtub Dogs gave a STELLAR performance to close a wonderful day full of so much talent! Thank you to Westside for being amazing hosts!

Best Male Soloist was Lincoln Ginsberg from Washington High School, not Shawndell Young. He is the first ballad soloist. Thanks!

I miss back in the day when you could look at any of the competition topics and someone would do a sort of run down of each show. It was nice to have that perspective from different people who got to see the groups live! If anyone feels inclined to do so, I wouldn't be mad.

I can give it my best shot

Now I only saw the groups in finals so this is all I will be able to do.

Grand Island NW 14KG
I haven't seen you since your lovely Wings show (which I was a HUGE fan of when I saw it at MWC 2014) and I'm glad I got a chance to see you tonight in finals!! Congrats on holding your own amongst stiff competition. Your guy song was definitely a favorite among my friends tonight! And your ballad soloist really showed why she deserved that honor! Always a pleasure to see you guys.

Cedar Rapids Washington Momentum
This was my first time watching you guys and I was pleasantly surprised. I know everybody in the audience was having a meltdown your entire gospel piece (in a good way). Clean vocals (of course) and an awesome band feature at the end. Hope to see you in Nebraska again!

Elkhorn Excel
Yes. I must be honest and say I was skeptical when I heard your theme was Ugly Duckling. But I was sooo surprised when I saw you. Some of the most innovative staging I have seen this year. Loved the usage of the benches in the second song! Usually I'm not a huge props guy but really loved those. Beautiful dynamic contrast throughout the show. Definitely one of those shows that leaves you smiling

Millard North Infinity
I'm pretty good friends with a bunch of people in this group and I'm so proud of the performers they are becoming. You can really tell they put a lot into their shows. They've got one of the funkiest bands in Nebraska and we love you for it!! Big improvement from prelims to finals in my opinion. Love the opener and second song. And S/O to Sierra Lancaster and Olivia Klein (lovely soloists and friends of mine). Also love the Luigi's Mansion song.

Elkhorn South Blackout
I have loved this show since I first saw your premiere night!! Love the opener, and the end of the ballad (insert heart eye emoji). Also another shoutout to Michaela Winje, Sammi B, and Zach Green for being lovely performers and making my day with a Blackout t shirt. Killer vocals, clean choreo, and a great show. Can't wait to see it for the... eighth time (I think?) at Crystal Cup! You consistenly are showing what Nebraska show choir is made of.

Final results posted.

Congrats to Hastings on continuing an excellent season! Elkhorn South appears to be doing great too! This, top to bottom, looked like a fantastic event to be at!

Not to be picky or come across as a potential noob, but finalists can't be chosen and also random....

Actually they can be, most competitions have directors come up to the stage and CHOOSE names out of the hat for RANDOM slots in finals. So the order is technically "RANDOMLY CHOSEN". 😁😊

Actually, finals order was at random, chosen by directors of the groups. All groups did a phenomenal job, and best of luck to everyone!

As customary to Westside finals, performance order is reverse daytime placements, and believe it or not, Elkhorn just proved why they should be in the top 2 today. Hastings was great and all, but their spirit, and usual vocal stature seemed to be lacking today. Up next is Elkhorn South!
