I'm not too entirely sure of how I see the placements going at this competition, so I'll just go with captions and groups of choirs for now in my predictions.
Predictions:
Group 1:
Homewood, Carmel, Petal
Group 2:
Albertville, Enterprise, Bradley Central
Best Vocals: Carmel (Homewood)
Best Visuals: Homewood (Carmel)
Overall Effect: Homewood (Carmel)
Band (?): Carmel (Petal)
The ones not in parentheses are the ones I see getting the caption, with the ones in parentheses being close behind or potentially able to get the caption. The order in which the groups appear in the groupings is the order that they came to mind, not placement order.
A 12:30 a.m. schedule for announcing the winners seems awfully late considering these things generally run over time. I'll bet a lot of these schools will still have to travel home after that.
I believe Homewood's South Central Classic has done worse. I think it was 2004, and it the exhibition performance was after midnight. Something like that.

2/6- Albertville (list hasn't came out yet, but I'm assuming Homewood will return along with some other competitors. Bradley Central and Enterprise have a history of attending, so hopefully they will.
Homewood will be at Albertville.
Like the post above, I'm waiting to see how some groups stack up against eachother in some early competitions. This, to me, is one of the most premier competitions in the south this year.
1/30- Tallassee (Homewood and Albertville tied for 3rd place and 4th place, with 3rd going to Homewood due to a vocal tie breaker)
1/30- South Jones (Petal recieved 3rd place and Enterprise didn't place.)
2/6- Albertville (list hasn't came out yet, but I'm assuming Homewood will return along with some other competitors. Bradley Central and Enterprise have a history of attending, so hopefully they will.)
2/6- Mississippi Show Choir Contest (Petal who will have went against Enterprise vs. Auburn who will have already competed against Albertville and Homewood, if you're into that transitive stuff.)
Predictions for how people will place here at Opelika??
I will reserve judgement for after this weekend. Most likely, it will be between Homewood and Carmel, with the other three spots between Albertville, Petal, and Bradley Central. This weekend, we will see how Homewood and Albertville stack up against each other.
Final awards are set for 12:30.
Well, hopefully I will be awake enough to drive from Opelika to Tallahassee after that. Really do not intend to stay in a hotel.
Very, very exciting for Carmel to be making the trip to Alabama! The last time a John Burlace group came to Alabama was at Albertville in 2014. I'm also glad the line up for this competition holds a few powerhouse southern groups for Carmel's viewing pleasure.
