I waited for a while to keep my comments more on the reserved side. Let me first say how amazing Clover Hill was. Clearly head and shoulders above everyone else to the point of absurdity. This show seemed a little below their level.
I am not certain how the choirs were placed into the groups they were in. Not sure how one school with an enrollment of over 2,000 and a choir with more participants (including a 15 piece brass section alone) would not be considered as a AA size group?
In my humble opinion, school enrollment should be he ONLY way to divide the choirs into groups. Schools with big enrollments and larger budgets who are unable to support a larger show choir are given a free pass when competing at smaller levels.
Small schools, with large groups, have to compete up with schools 4-5 times their size because they punch above their weight. Our group represents literally 10% of our student enrollment. Imagine if the same applied to the larger schools...set it up by enrollment and let the large, super funded groups flash their dominance in finals.
This is one area where State Athletic Associations have it right. Competitions should follow.
The results are correct the Large school directors opted to forgo finals and allow the small mix because of fear of running to late into the night. Therefore the daytime placements where used as the final placements. Best costume went to Clover hill New Dimensions, Best Crew went to Nitro Showcats
Only Small Mixed finals happened. Those results are posted. If folks have the other results, just let us know. Sounds like this was a rough one in West Virginia...
I don't know captions. But I'm guessing it was a Cloverhill sweep.
I've heard that Director's were concerned with how far behind finals were...the fact that the host school's director was having small mixed finals in the gymnasium before the large mixed...and also there were some issues with scores.(grapevine says Director's were unhappy with placements and one judge)

Do we know for sure whether or not there will be 2 sets of finals? I just wanted to confirm because the schedule we got in the mail didn't detail that?
Yup there are two in a row. First small 5, then 5 large.

We never got the full division results, so we weren't able to post them. I did see your post about St. C winning, but we need the full placement list in order to assign any awards. If you can help us with this (or any other!) competition, we would be more than happy to give your group credit!
Class C Champions at Beavercreek 2 weekends ago.

I'm really excited to be traveling to W.V. to attend my second out-of-state competition. Menchville (m) Pulse is a really cool group of diverse students. I know they too are excited about competing and seeing the difference in W.V. show choirs to our own in Va.
Best of luck to all competing and we'll hopefully see you soon! Be safe in all that snow.
