Yep, we do.

I'll post the tenative schedule sometime this week, after I can get back to school and get a copy of it.

With Jr. High/Middle School, Women's, and Mixed all together, we have a total of 28 groups in attendance for our competitions first run.

that's pretty decent... i think that's a bit more than Best of the South last year. I'm so excited.

Okay, when this news broke in the summer, everyone was SOOOO excited, but the talk has quieted down a bit. This is going to be the first Southern competition this year, so what the down low on who's going?

And dare I say, "Is there a schedule out"? It's less than a month away, right? Cody or CompanyDad... fill us in!

I'm thinking that the "20 and under" phrase actually refers to the way the PRCC does their competition.  I think they split show choirs into 3 classifications.  However, that is not the norm as I think PRCC is the only comp to do it that way (in the South anyway).  Most competitions break mixed show choirs into 2 classifications... A and AA, and I want to say that the breaking point is at 36 singers.  Right?  And then of course there's the Jazz Fest... but let's not get into that.

actually, the break is 32 at homewood and 34 at opelika. i'm not sure about petal, prcc, etc.

YES!!!!! I'm overjoyed. It is common is ms. Now there will be three competitions who offer that category!!!! Oak Grove is Gunning for that First Place Trophy at all three!!!! I can already tell that The South Jones show choir Invitational is gonna be an amazing way to open the competition season for southern show choirs!!! Thanks so much Cody for keeping everyone on showchoir.com posted.

Hey Cody:

I was so excited to hear that South Jones will have a show choir contest. I have a question: Will there be a 20 and under category, or will you all discriminate against small groups with amazingly good talent like Petal, and South Central Classic? I really hope you do!!! Have a great day!!!!

Mr. McKenzie sent off several copies of our information/registration packet to SCA Millikin, so hopefully we'll draw a decent crowd; not only of our usual Southern competitors, but also a few newcomers from the states above.
