As you can see, prelims looked a lot different than finals did placement wise. I don't have the consensus rankings for finals, however, I think it's fairly obvious how tight the scoring was between the lower 5 groups. In summation, don't let the finals placements affect your overall thoughts on each group, as some of these groups had outstanding and pleasantly surprising showings that weren't reflected in the final outcome.

Certainly extremely excited to see what happens here this weekend. Nebraska show choir will forever be getting better and better every single year, so it's extremely hard to predict. Good luck everybody!

I could see any of the bottom 3 go in any order, but this is what I'd guess. I hear Southwest is awesome this year, but it seems like everyone thinks Elkhorn will give them a run for their money.
These are all very good predictions! Grand Island NW shouldn't be counted out though, I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining they were and I saw a major improvement from previous years.

edit: Switched Lincoln Southwest and Lincoln East, gave Southwest vocals in addition to best band. Also, I've been hearing that Southwest KILLED it, so it'll be interesting to see if they could move their way up to the GC spot...
Super excited for all of these Nebraska groups to represent us well! Essentially all of these groups could switch around (higher or lower), but I'm most confident in Elkhorn South, with their high energy shows and sensational choreography, to take home the GC here. That being said, there are a lot of wild card groups that could definitely shock some people with the quality of their performances. Should be a super interesting competition!
wow wow wow! I am so sad that I am not attending this event this year! I had so much competing through the years and I'm so sad I can't come see these groups, BUT Free Spirit is for real on the rise this year it's awesome. Blackout is amazing as usual and I have heard great things about all the other groups. best of luck to all who are competing!

Unfortunately I haven't seen many of these groups yet, but I am very interested to see how each group stacks up against one another. Last week I got the pleasure of seeing Lincoln East and Grand Island NW, and I was impressed with both. Both groups had an enjoyable show to watch and were strong choreographically, especially GINW's guys. I have sadly not seen Blackout yet, but I have heard great things from their premiere and performance at Ankeny. Their show last season was one of my favorites and I'm sure they will be great again this year, and their results last week tell me that is correct. I feel like Papillion La-Vista is a group on the rise, as they narrowly missed finals at Crystal Cup last year and Ben Eklund being their choreographer certainly helps as well. This was such a hard competition to predict, but I wish everyone the best!! Have fun to those competing and attending

I haven't seen a lot of these groups this year, but simply based on last year and the groups that competed last week, these are my prediction. Blackout leaving with Grand Champion is the only one that I'm positive about... I would be surprised if another group got it. Lincoln East has amazing vocals, so I wouldn't say their position is fixed at 2RU either... I've also heard great things about Papio!
