I'm expecting 1-5 will be extremely close. Very hard to predict. Johnston and ATSC were both fantastic at Crystal Cup last week, as always. Linn Mar won a GC in a loaded competition at Cedar Rapids Washington last week, and Mitchell and Waconia have both had three weeks since their last competition to really come ready to compete. Should be a great day!
Hello all! So I was extremely bored in class and decided to combine everyone's predictions into one.
Neat! You should try using the algorithm on everyone's current records so far as well and see what it comes up with. Obviously the awards aren't apples-to-apples (different groups went to different competitions, some of which may have had more depth than others), but I'm curious what it would give you (and then curious to see how that compares to the ultimate result of this event).

1RU: ATSC BC
2RU: Linn-Mar BB
3RU: Waconia
4RU: Mitchell
5RU: IC West
6RU: Kennedy
7RU: Totino
8RU: Bettendorf
9RU: Muscatine
10RU: North
For each placement GC through 5RU the respective points were given 21, 19, 16, 14, 11, 9.
So for example Johnston's score was calculated using this method (12*21)+(4*19)+(4*16)+(0*14)+(0*11)+(0*9)= 392
Another example with IC West's score (0*21)+(0*19)+(0*16)+(0*14)+(2*11)+(15*9)= 157
For BV, BC, BB I simply tallied how many times a user awarded the respective caption to each group.
Of course this isn't a perfect system as there were some early predictions but I wanted everyone who put in predictions be heard! It'd be pretty cool if as a community we could predict results! Good luck to all groups!

Absolutely can't wait to go to this. This event has been on Kyler and mine's calendar since we found out who all was coming. As someone who participated in Great River on the performer side of things, I had nothing but good things to say about it and can't wait to come as a spectator. Here are my predictions....

I feel as if Mitchell is being underestimated in this lineup... they have only competed once this year and lost to a very formidible Sioux City East, and their first competition is always tough for them because they learn their show in so little time. I have no doubt they have improved a lot since January. Johnston's show is just one of my favorites— I feel like they are the most well balanced groups (in addition to being extremely entertaining). Westside hardly competes in Iowa so I'm not sure how they will do here. Could see them anywhere from 1-4 but hopefully they will represent Nebraska well Waconia is also one I could see moving up— loved them when they came to Millard West this year and I also believe they have improved a lot. And then I have no idea about 5RU because I have not seen most of the other groups.
