Tremendously proud of the Zionsville and ALA folks for their amazing work at HOA. So many great memories, and SOOO many great shows from top-notch groups.
Also, a BIG shout-out to Chad Alexander and Kevin Brazeale for working their butts off to provide a great experience for everyone!! Expect this competition to certainly grow in years to come. A wonderful event
GC - Royalaires, Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Female Soloist
1RU - Choraliers, Best Band
2RU - Express
3RU - Evolution, Best Costumes
4RU - Hillside Singers
5RU - Shepherd Hill Fantasy, Best Crew
6RU - Oak Grove
They ended up handing out a 6ru, 5ru, 4ru, etc trophy on stage.. So I don't know if that should be labeled? That's a technicality issue since two groups didn't qualify or perform in finals but still received a physical award and placement and were given awards on stage.
Fairfield Rhythm Express won best Male Soloist, and best show design.
Full placements are posted. Perhaps missing some captions, I'm not sure. And to clarify an earlier post, it appears Fairfield "Rhythm Express" competed in the Open Division, not the Middle School Division. This is literally what I asked clarification on earlier, but whatever.
Congrats to Zionsville! And nice work Fairfield representing Ohio! I look forward to seeing your show soon (possibly next weekend!)
Fairfield "Rhythm Express" earned the top overall afternoon score and has the pre-finals showcase performance! THAT is why I asked if they were competing in Open or Middle School, because obviously they're an incredible group of young students.
I keep coming back here to make predictions, but every time, I'm like all of these groups should make finals. As far as award records, there's really not much distinguishing them.
So my predictions are as follows:
Oak Grove makes finals.
Zionsville gets best vocals.
That's awesome! Congrats to Pleasant Hill on the success thus far! I am so glad to see them traveling to Nashville! Excited to see all of the groups they are bringing! Best of luck to our fellow Missourians over at P-Hill!!!
To those who already have predictions.. Don't forget about Pleasant Hill! They are undefeated so far and have beaten some pretty big names along the way! (Jenks, Grand Island Northwest) Just throwing them out there as a finals contender!
Troy Buchanan leaves first thing in the morning on Friday and they are all so excited to see these amazing groups AND of course...spend a weekend in NASVHILLE!!!!
Best of luck to everyone! Looking forward to a fun filled weekend!
Cool appreciate the clarification, HOA! The attending middle schools are absolutely excellent and certainly could (and have) competed with the Open Division groups. It should be accurately reflected above now.
Just for clarification from the HOA staff or attending directors/students... are Fairfield MS, Lake Forest MS, and Oak Grove MS competing in the Open Division here at HOA Nashville Day Two? Divisions weren't included on the posted schedule, but based on HOA KC that's how the schedule is set up.
I just want to double check as HOA Nashville Day One is planned to be the Middle School competition with choirs performing Friday night. The schedule/list of attending choirs doesn't appear to be posted for that one yet, so I was curious if the middle school event was consolidated to Saturday.
If someone could clarify whether those three middle schools are in the Open Division or their own Middle School Division that would be excellent. Just want to make sure everything is represented accurately on here.
I don't have a clear cut schedule or anything but I also don't know if you saw on the Middle/Jr. tab down closer to the bottom with the schedule they were originally planning on it being 6PM start time but with the schedule given they have the first Middle school group at 5PM. Like I said I'm not sure if you had already seen that but that could be an indicator they maybe just didn't have the turnout they wanted for the middle school division and just ended up putting them in their own Middle School Division but maybe just competing on Saturday!
