Luckily schedule updates are all super easy edits to make. You know the banter with the Northeast circuit is all in good fun. I've gone back and updated the archives the past couple summers and there's virtually no information on the Northeast circuit pre-2010. So, in comparison, it's great to have the discussions we do have even if we talk about confusing things. Despite the differences, there's always a lot more we have in common.
This is going to be a great competition! I have no doubt in my mind that every choir attending will feel very pleased with the way it will be run! This might be the first one every but I have extreme faith that it will be a great competition! Good luck to all groups and very excited that Hart and Uniondale will be atteding! Happy to have two outside New England groups attending the first ever CTC!
Can you expand further upon the difference between the two "showcases?"
From what I understand, many groups signed up for the competition with many time conflicts (some of which we are still dealing with) and when we finalized a lineup, there was no way to draw a distinct line between the two mixed divisions. We figured it would be best to label this year as "Showcase's" because there was no exact way to define the divisions. Hopefully for future years there will be a cut-off, but for this year we are just wicked excited to have many groups coming from near and far, (thanks Hart) a KILLER judges panel, and a lot of support to the inaugural CTC!
The director of Daniel Hand Vibe has decided that the two mixed divisions are going to split up into two showcases, a morning showcase and an afternoon showcase. Here it says Tier 1 and Tier 2 which is okay, however for clarification the actual competition has been split up into a morning and evening showcase due to time conflicts.

Honored and excited to be a judge on your panel for this competition! VERY much looking forward to seeing so many groups I haven't seen before and witnessing first-hand the immense growth of east-coast show choir. But PLEASE, don't try to serve me chowder........I hate clams
See you all soon and God bless, Damon Brown
We are honored to have someone like you judging here! Can't wait until March 5th!

The schedule, from the website, is posted along with the divisions Dominick shared. There isn't any information about divisions on the CTC website, so if the divisions are different from what Dominick shared just let us know.
It'll be interesting to see how Hart and Uniondale do at the inaugural Connecticut Classic.
I suppose we can report the two mixed divisions as open divisions... which is partially true because they will both consist of a mixture of small and large mixed groups... but that still does not solve the issue of the two duplicate divisions.
Dominick you raise interesting points about competition formats and divisions - which sound like they might be a little weird here. I'm personally not too concerned with how the "reporting" piece will look like on here specifically. We'll make it work and post all of the information provided to us - it might not look super neat or pretty - but the information will be there. Event pages on here are solely reflections of the competitions themselves. I'm excited that Daniel Hand is adding a new competition to the Northeast circuit and I look forward to seeing how things go!
Apparently there will be a middle school division, a single gender division, and two "mixed" divisions devoid of a categorization title... meaning they are neither Tier I nor Tier II.... They're just "mixed". I'm still trying to work this out and come up with a plausible solution for the reporting aspect, as I know for a fact that this will not work logistically. It's effectively like having two grand champions, two 1st runners up, two 2nd runners up, etc. I suppose we can report the two mixed divisions as open divisions... which is partially true because they will both consist of a mixture of small and large mixed groups... but that still does not solve the issue of the two duplicate divisions.
