CG's Girls group has consistently been one of the best in the country. They beat Carmel and Mundelein's girls groups last week and mundelein Lights placed 3rd in finals at a competition this year so I would say CG's girls are pretty legit.
I had no idea they weren't competing. they're still on the list. I would say Franklin Central's girls could make it too. They're one of the best girls groups out there as well.
I am a member of both our Varsity mixed and JV mixed show choirs. Sound System is the Varsity mixed, and Surround Sound is the JV mixed. And as far as our women's groups go, Debtones is the Varsity Single-Gender and Accents is our JV Single-Gender. Sound System and Debtones are the only ones attending this competition.

I think the misunderstanding is that you referred to the CG Debtones as a "JV" group in which they are not. Center Grove does have a sort of JV group however, and the Debtones are definitely not it. Also, assuming the Debtones, or any girl group for that matter, as JV, is a little judgmental and doesn't give note to the fact that many single-gender women's groups exist really because of the large amount of women who want to participate in show choir in comparison to men, not because they didn't make the cut or weren't ready for varsity.
And excluding my slight rant above, there are separate women's and mixed finalists, so once again your predictions would be wrong because there's not a highest scorer finals.
Even if they were attending I would be pretty surprised if they would make it, I mostly agree with the other 4 but, it wouldn't be too surprising if Ben Davis came out and bumped up some places. I think the last spot probably goes to Mooresville but I also liked Whiteland's show last year and I think they could make it too.

I know it is a lot less popular to look at the Single-Gender groups, but this comp has a lot of strong players. With centergrove and fc being locks for finals, it looks as if spot number three could go to a lot of talented groups. It is really going to be interesting to see who claims that last finals spot. As someone in a women's group, I am excited to see some much talent in an otherwise neglected category!

However, as in the past, the battle between FC and CG could really go either way and FC is coming off of a spectacular season last year, and will want to match that success. Huntington North also had a really great comeback season last year, and I'm excited to see what they pull out this year.
