I'm pretty sure Infinity received best band instead of Blackout as well
Millard North was announced as winning Best Band, but apparently there was an error as an Elkhorn South student notified me that Blackout took the caption.

Not meaning to cause any problems but the best band caption was awarded to Millard North Infinity. The rumor was that we had more adults in our band than legal. However, we only had one in absence of our trombone players!

Was the judging a lot different from Gretna or did millard north and elkhorn south get even better?


This early in the competition season, one week can make all the difference in a group's show. So since Gretna was two weeks ago, well, you get the picture.

Both. Different judges with different backgrounds and Elkhorn South/Millard North kicked it up a huge notch since Gretna from what I've heard.

Free Spirit keeps taking strides every year.

I love to see this. Back when I was in high school, Papillion-La Vista was a true player in the national show choir scene. My freshman year at my very first competition ever, they were the very first group I saw live and they were just so incredible. I credit their performance that day for being the reason I became hooked to show choir right away. Seeing them drop over the last half decade or so was depressing. I would love to see them get back to where they were.

Just saw Elkhorn for the first time this year and it was absolutely entrancing. Major props to their director for choosing songs that fit the "Toy" theme so much, and also props to their Choreographer for giving them moves that makes the whole show seem so real. If you have the oppurtunity to see this show, DO IT. You will not be let down.
