Amanda began dancing at the age of three at The School of Canton Ballet, and by the age of 13 she was a company member. As a company member she performed in many ballets including The Nutcracker, Dracula, Swan Lake, The Wizard of Oz and many more. She has attended summer intensives with ballet companies in Pennsylvania, Texas, New York and Ohio. Amanda earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kent State University and during her junior year was awarded a scholarship as Outstanding Dance Major. After college graduation, Amanda gained teaching experience at private dance studios, preschools, and public schools. In the summer of 2014, she choreographed “Chicago” at the Young Actors Studio. Amanda now works with the Reach Out and Dance program, which teaches dance to 4th graders in the Akron Public School District. At KDA, Amanda instructs ballet, jazz and technique classes for recreation and competition level dancers.
