I thought Bishop Luers ballad was amazing....but it was kind of odd that it was 2 soloists throughout the entire thing....it was amazing but shouldnt have scored as well as it did

This thread is becoming a bit of a bloodbath... Can't we all just get along?

Anyway, I REALLY wish I had been at this contest; the lineup looked pretty amazing. And a big congrats to Bishop Luers, I loved your show at Beavercreek!

Also, I now love St. Clairsville just because their ballad was from my favorite band of all time, Naturally 7, and not many people have heard of Naturally 7. I never thought I would see one of their songs in a show choir performance.

Woah! Not the results I was expecting, but this makes me even more eager to see these groups live and understand the judges' decisions. Congrats to BL, I'd love to hear your ballad if you could post it.

i usually don't comment on individual songs or groups, but i have to say that bishop luers' ballad this year might be in the top 25 show choir numbers i've ever seen live... and this is going back to before most of the current SCC folks were even born (kindly refrain from any old jokes). maybe it's just because it's fresh in my head & i really need to go through the ol' memory vaults to make sure, but it was just one of those moments where i stop noticing i'm watching high school show choir and just enjoy the moment.

now, it helps immensely that luers has two pretty talented soloists who can carry the thing (someone help me with names), cause the song wouldn't work at all without those two.

Ballad soloists are Hannah Schindler and Kristopher Andorfer
and it's called "Lothlorien" from Lord of the Rings the Musical
they are both phenominal and we are so proud of them!

I would just like to say that I had a great time and enjoyed watching everyone. This competition is so well run and the hosts are so nice. I'm honestly happy with 4th runner-up because all the groups ahead of us were great and completely deserved it. Especially Colerain and Bishop Luers. I loved both of your shows. I also loved Findlay's show. I'm predicting a few GC's out of them this year.

So I saw three groups in finals.
Olentangy- you're show was pretty good there were a couple times in the ballad I was expecting some of the vocal parts move more and get louder but it didn't and that's cool. You guys put on a really energetic show. At first I didn't no what to think of your first number but I definitely love it. Good luck in the rest of your competition season!!

Bishop Leurs- wow wow wow. You guys came out of nowhere!! You put on a fantastic vocal performance!! It was the best singing group I've heard in a while. The choreo was clean. And your ballad soloists were out of this world. Keep doing what you're doing.

Marysville- You guys definitely put on a fenominal show at finals. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see your next show!!!

It was a great competition although there was just something about that auditorium that was bugging me!! Lol oh well

Wow! All I can say is that I greatly GREATLY overestimated the groups at this comp. And I will give some props to BL, Ive never seen a group win best choreo without doing any. Great vocals, loud vocals, very loud vocals all the time.

Olentangy- A shell of your former self.
Edgewood- great MJ soloist
TV- ouch
Maryville- show started off slow but was very entertaining at the end
Colerain- Best balanced show vocals and choreo of the night
BL- expect your lunchbox in the mail. mid 90's Power Rangers

If I have to sit through one more "nerdy" guys number this year I will puke. It's not cool and dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

I just came from Findlay

I just have to say that colerain was amazing. With different judges they would (should) have won. Bishop lures was strong, but colerains vocal quality and clean choreo was the strongest of the day. If their "show" part was a little stronger I think they would be one of the best out there.

Not a chance. Colerain was quite impressive, with Waubonsian vocals, but Luers was absolutely through the roof. Their ballad is better even than Totino's. I'll bet anything the judges were unanimous in the GC selection.

What is the ballad... and have you seen Totino this year live?

By through the roof you mean "yay we can sing as loud as we can for the entire show right?"
